Hi,
This is my first post here, so please bare with me ! I have just purchased a Jap Neo Geo AES, and am bewildered at what games to buy to start my collection, I am pretty much open to any type of game and really want to hear what people recommend, I havent got 100's of £'s to spend on cartridges, so if people could let me know the names of the games and a rough price of what i would be looking to pay for it, I would really appreciate it, I am really looking forward to getting into the Neo scene,
Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

Nam 1975
Fatal Fury Special
Magician Lord
King of the Monsters
Samurai Spirits 1,2

If you get the courage to start spending around $100 a cartridge...then you will get a higher quality selection..you could get a King of Fighters title or a shooter like Sonic Wings 2:D

The World Heroes series is cheap but there is a reason for it. They aren't very good and most here will agree.
Go with what Gunstarhereo listed they are good games.

Gunstarhero hit the nail on the head. I personally would suggest KoF 94 and 95. They are cheap, and it is good to start at the beginning so you can see how the series evolved.

I think that Samurai Showdown 2 is a fantastic game to start your collection with (that's how I started mine :) ).

It's easily one of the best games on the Neo, not to mention one of the best fighters of all time. It's also pretty damned cheap! (JPN version)

KOF '94 and '95 are also great games - like they said.

When you're ready to spend stupid amounts of cash - go for the recently price-inflated Metal Slug 3 :).

Exactly. SS2 is one of the best fighting games to date. If you're into fighters, maybe you should think about picking up one of the newer games like KOF 2003 or SS5 Special, when it arrives.

A Phantom 1 will easily pay for itself, when it allows you to play games like Metal Slug, MOTW, and Ninja Masters.

I highly recommend it. A NGH with a Phantom 1 will let you play (just about) anything.

A word of advice:

Don't purchase more than one game at a time.

This will not only save you money, but it will allow you to fully appreciate each game individually.
