Does your DVD player play VCDs?

I didn't know, so I went and looked on the front of the Sony 700 unit.

And it says above the tray:

DVD/CD/Video CD

So... yes. :P

PS: let me give you a small backstory on this. I got this new one for I wanted a DVD player that uses component video for my new VVega TV. I got this TV, and two weeks later moved in with my great roommates who have all of that and more! So, I don't even use this anymore. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0"> Here, I just got it over two or so months ago, and I've used it... hmm, 6 times now? <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Spike, could you do me a big favor and tell me what the model # of this DVD player was. thanks.

It was a 700... can't remember the letter. It was progressive scan, and a Sony (well, duh). It was silver and came out onto the market about 4 months ago. Sold for $349 when it first came out, and now is $299 (can you tell I work for retail marketing)?
