I decided to take a look at the MAS Supernova RGB to NTSC encoder, since I was gonna remove it and replace it with the one that D-Lite was bringing over today. I discovered something surprising. The RGB to NTSC encoder that the Mas Supernova uses is a Sony CXA1645P. I have taken a picture of it here:

Sorry about the picture. It's still wired into my Supernova, which is why all the wires are in the way.
Anyway, I thought this might be helpful for somebody out there. Back when I had a Supernova a long, long time ago, it didn't use the Sony chip. I wonder when they started to use it.
