If you really want a system that's in pristine mint condition, that'll cost you upward of 500 dollars easily. If you want one that's new/unused, you're looking at 1000+. If you just want a system that's in excellent-near mint condition, just check on ebay for one of the japanese sellers. You should be able to grab a nice one for around 350 (250 + 100 shipping).

Good luck to you man! This hobby is about $$$. The more money you put out the higher quality you get. NM-M in this hobby means NM-M prices. "galfordo" is right. NEW systems will run for around $1000 and up. NM-M which means there are still slight imperfections on the box, console, manual, and accessories will still run close to $400-500. I know. I have been watching the Forums lately and saw the difference between NM-M. M means that is a 120% markup. Just remember though...At $120% up you better be buying from someone that everyone says is a good seller. Hit-Japan and japan_games_n_other and a few smalltime sellers on ebay are not collectors. They just buy to sell. At that rate you run a gamble on what you get. You get it and its working. Those are your only 2 garuntees. Buying from a collecter at a slightly higher price means that they can boast what they sell. There are a number of guys here that sell good stuff like Kennyboy, Rimm_rs, Neo_Bomber_man (lots of stuff in his catagory, but sells fast) and a few other. Look in the selling forums. Ask all questions before a purchase. Its afterall your money and ITS NOT CHEEP to buy these things.

Can I get a picture of that? HEHE. I am almost tempted to buy one of those Neo Geo Cabinents at the lovehotels. I forgot who posted the pic, but it was funny.

WOAH buddy!

I loooooooove video games. I collect them. The thing I like best about doing what I'm doing it to walk into my storage room and see all of the games. I point them out to my friends and talk about them even tho they really don't give a s***. I tried to convince my girlfriend that owning the Christmas Seaman Dreamcast with the serial number 000/850 makes me feel like something special in the world. My roommate doesn't really care that I have 5 Pure White XBOXs out of 1000 total, but I told him anyway. Buying the Neo Geo Power Draft CD at a local store for $25 brings a smile to my face becasue it was the first time I had seen it in real life and I know that not that many people in the world have it.

You'll notice that none of that stuff is available for sale right now.

I've owned almost every video game system there is. To me, that's what I like the most.

I also sell them. And selling them helps me increase my collection. It also helps me to partially suppport myself by working with video games, something that I love. I made a lot more money selling real estate in America than I do selling video games from Japan. If it's just the money, then I wouldn't be doing it....

Collecting is one thing, but have you ever *worked for* video games? Have you ever been dependent on income from them? Maybe you have, I don't know anything about you....

Here's what I'm working on now: www.japan-games.com.

You'll notice that there are no sales there, just info.

Pfttt....and you said that I'm not a collector....

I got your point, but I thought I'd add a face (words) to the name.... No hard feelings.

Damn buddy. I didnt know it was like that! I thought you were the sheer quantity man. If I knew you collected I would have sang a different tune. I personally own a NEW NES power pad system (I mean the baggy is around every individual part), a japanese Sportstron, and one of the Pippin systems you specifically sold.

I am also impressed with your Seaman 0/850

You did real estate? Props to you bud.

You have been totally dependant on a game sales income? How did you manage that? Why did you manage that. Know what? You're a fascinating man in a special, but ecentric way. Maybe we should BS sometime.

And to make it clear....retracting comments posted above.

$1.50 shipped (due to inflation)

Will you take a piece of buttrock and a used gerbil instead? The gerbil is the one that found the buttrock. I wonder how that got there?

No worries, Mystic. I just thought I'd sneak up on ya is all....

But, I do love video games. I'm leaving Japan and heading back to the US and I'm going to try to open up something there. I'm not sure yet, into the great wide open kind of stuff. We'll see where I land. Probably flat on my ass.

I do sell to make money since I don't teach in Japan anymore, so I do have to recycle most of my products. But I really love having them while I do. I just bought a Japanese Intellivision set for $250 here that I'll lose money on when I sell it. But, I need it for my web site. I also bought an Orange N64 that I'll be lucky to break even on, but with that I should have the complete color colection from Nintendo which will look great for my web site. So, yeah, the money is necessary, but it's not the only reason why I do it.

I'll be lurking on the boards every now and then, see ya around sometime...

Eric
