I don't know about you guys but this does seem rather sad. No more new SF's in the arcade, no CVS3...

SF2 in the arcade was the game that got me interested in this hobby in the very beginning!

Straight-to-console games will never compare to true arcade games imo.

yup, read that...Capcom will never be the same...10 years from now..not a soul, but us will remember what Capcom truly did for the industry..RIP Capcom Coin-Op Inc...it's been a good run..too many memories.....bad year for MVS and Capcom...

Say goodbye to a huge part of the 2d arcade scene. Right now competition-wise we're left with 3d fighters from Sega and Namco, and still unclear on the whole Atomiswave with SNKP. It fucking sucks though. CvS2 is one of my favorite games ever. Hopefully something will come along and inject life into the arcade scene much like SF2 did back in the early 90s when arcades were dying.

As much as I would like to believe that, I think it's just another sign that arcades are doomed here in the states. Kind of like VHS tapes - they're just dying slow, painful deaths :crying:

Arcades have been dead in Minnesaota since I was in 9th grade, which was a long time ago. :oh_no:

Actually arcades here were dead until I was in 7th grade, then SamSho 2 came out, then they died again until MvsC came out and there was a little spike (no not me). But arcades have been basically nonexistant here.

Come party in Chapel Hill dude. The club scene is sorta hopelessly caught up in the hip hop garbage, but the chicks are pretty damned nice. Plus the student body here is pretty liberal and open-minded - you just basically gotta grab one and start shakin'

Yeah, that's what I've observed too. Honestly, it hasn't relaly been kickin' since the SF2 days. Then MK/MK2 came out, as did Sam Sho 2 and KOF '94, and those got close - but after that it's been dying off ever since.
