Anyhow, I ordered a game from them that was listed in 'G' condition, which is their second highest rating. The game came complete, the manual, the spine, were all great as far as I could tell. Of course the Cd, came with a scratch on the cd, plus what looks like a skid mark on it as well. I was looking through their past feedback. I also noticed that they sold a 'boxed' controller with heavy damage as 'VG', the buyer left a neutral message indicating that as well. If you must deal with them, never take into account their grading, they obviously aren't skilled, or truthful in their grading.

True. But I've dealt with them loads of times, mostly with Saturn games (only?), and with them you can just change the jewel case. Doesn't bother me much with the CD, as long as it's not butt-ugly. I use my games, so naturally they can't stay completely mint forever.

I've dealt with them loads of times, usually for Saturn, DC and MD. I've always found their grading to be accurate. I think your example is an exception rather than the norm.

Actually, it's piss easy to keep cd's unscratched, especially with top loading hardware. Unless you fancy throwing around your cd's and skidding/sliding them into place, there's no reason to scratch them. Even with tray-loading systems. It doesn't take more than a few seconds with care to place a cd into a tray loading system. So there's no reason for the cds to be scratched.

Hardly, their prior feedbacks speaks for itself. They are the only ones i've dealt with, aside from a brit wanker, that wouldn't know 'G', if it bit them in the ass. Quite simply, they exaggerate their gradings if it serves them right. They need to adjust their grading scale, or get people who know how to do shit right. Of course, most morons who bid on ebay, couldn't tell the difference between mint and poor, so it's not like they have to give a damn about those few perceptive individuals who CAN tell. Anyhow, rant off. I just wanted to make this thread to warn those people who haven't yet dealt with these individuals. I have accomplished that goal, I hope.

Didn't say anything about scratches. There's just NO WAY you're going to keep a CD COMPLETELY F*CKING MINT if you actually use it. I keep the CD's I frequently use in one of those folders, simply because I can't be arsed to open my seal kings every time I need to use a game. This makes it harder to keep the cd's completely mint forever and ever and ever, though.

Also, CALM THE F*CK DOWN DUDE!!! Don't take your little problem with palet_th out on us!!! :very_ang:

I used to do a butt load of business with palet_th, and while his grading system isn't the best in the world, I figure for the prices he has a lot of these games at, a few nicks here or there wasn't that big of an issue. *Then again, I dealt in Mega Drive and Super Fami games with him and not CD based games, thus yeah, I'd be pissed off to. I think overall however, the guy just runs a business with some others scouting stores making available games often at times that would start at $85.00 anywhere else and puts them up at a begining bid of $10.00, unless it's a bonafied Rare or E.R. like Battle Mania 2. He probably doesn't even play the games himself.

I have both love and hate feeling toward palet_th and hit-Japan

I have bought lots games from them but both sellers have sucky grading system.

Price is really good so I can't really complain both of them :(

I've had problems with his grading scale on ebay as well. I've bought quite a few MD games off of ebay from him that were listed at the highest condition, and when I got them many of the manuals had holes punched in the sides, like he had stored them in a binder. I don't know about you guys, but when I buy a mint game, I don't want holes in my manuals!

The holes punched in the spine is a standard on the early MD games like Space Harrier II, Herzog Zwei, Alex Kidd. There might be ones without it, but I have not seen them.

Dealt with themm in past and nevr had a problem. Your case maybe an exception, that occurs from time to time. Under any standard operating procedures, it is a given.:p

I've never had a problem with palet_th, but hit-japan is the biggest wanker I've ever dealt with. Bought a Duo off him and the power socket was loose and the control pad broken. Never even offered me any money and said 'it's because the system is old and fragile'. Plus my last 4 games I paid for 2 months ago haven't turned up yet.

Umm...not the games I got from him. For instance, the Thunderforce II had holes punched in it, but I ended up getting another copy that didn't. I don't believe any manuals would have come from the factory like that.

I bought Radiant Silvergun from them ages ago and it arrived smashed to bits, the ring holder had pressed right into the back of the manual and caused a noticeable mark.

I complained but they basically told me to fuck off so I won't be using them again....Their stuff is overpriced anyway....

Well now I know to stay away from them, to bad they have about half of all the good neo stuff that listed.

Hit_japan uses the same pic for every neo game over and over.

I got AoF2 a while back, the pic looked really good, but the games was completely fucked up...

Same goes for those paleth fuckers.

I've dealt with Paleth quite a few times and I've always received the item stated in the picture.

As for the grading, I find it aprox 90% accurate heck, one time I ordered a Saturn game with the grade: G but I could've sworn the game looked like it'd never been used. On the otherhand, my Phantasy Star IV had an ugly staint on the back of the manual even though it was stated as V :p

Paleth is a seller I value highly. Good prices :)

I have brought from both hit-japan and palet_th loads of times (well over 100 transactions with each) and have on the whole found them both to be excellent, with accurate descriptions and fast secure delivery.

Only had one problem with a console from palet_th and had my money refunded no problem.

For the money I don't think you can go wrong with either of these two, it also must be hard at times as one persons grade "G" often varies considerably to anothers.

Actually had a game from Hit-Japan waiting for me last night - NGH SVC Chaos. The game was advertised as Grade "B" for cart, manual and case so I expected a few marks.

What I received was totally mint all the way through, looked no different to new. Was extremely happy!

I don't understand how people can have so many problems avoiding scratches on CD's. None of the CD's I bought brand new have any scratches on them, not even the ones I have used frequently.

Rating stuff and especially CD's in better condition than they are, is very usual on Ebay. Pretty annoying since I want stuff in near flawless condition, I often have bought games twice. My latest one being Gradius 3&4 for PS2 that I bought 3 copies of just to finally get all the pieces in good condition :(.

Maybe with CD's it's best to assume its always worse than advertised.

Perhaps for those items where nothing less than mint will do, a mail to the seller before auction close is the best solution, at least then you can ask a specific question and get a specific answer that you could come back to them with if the item is not up to scratch (no pun intended!)
