Is there any substitute that anyone knows of that will house a single MVS cartridge fairly well. Shock boxes are nice but also uncommon and expensive.

Great question, I have yet to hear any subsitutes. I've been looking at Vhs double albums. One side of the case holds two tapes horizontaly. You would have to cut out some of the molding that runs between the tapes. I think it might work but haven't been willing to commit yet. I'll let you know if I run into a suitable subsitute.

Why do you need an individual box when you can just line them up in rows of two or even three in a rectangular plastic bin with lids on them, with the spine/labels facing up of course.???

I guess you don't need an individual box or case. I think to have mvs cases with inserts would be a nice option. My wife is pretty patient with me as it is with my game collection taking up shelves every where in the house. Cosmetically mvs game cases keeps it neat enough for her not to mind. A happy wife makes for a happy gamer husband.

I just want something nice to display with labels. Lets face it, most of our MVS carts are old and well used. If somebody sees a good shock box replacement, share the info.

expanding on the vhs idea, you could use the thick cases used for kids tapes

i think a disney vhs case would be a little to small. wish i had one to try it out.

Well i made one and it will work out nicely.. A little different then a normal shock box forsure but it will be damn nice and well protected.. Its a sleave box lined with black foam padding.. I could use any color i choose though..
Got it all done late last night but heh.. This always happens to me when i build somehting for the first time.. Its a tad tight! hehehe.. I mean bigtime tight! I had to use muscels i hav'nt used in a long time to get that MVS game back out.. I didnt account for the foam padding in the measurments.. opps.. Well first attempt.. Still happy with it and i'm on the way to building another one right now.
Hey if you guys like the end product maybe i could sell some heh.
Oh.. If anyone has a link for game graphic covers.. I could use it!
