Hey guys,

I'm gonna buy a JROK. Sucks when you burn out AD725 Chips, but whatcha gonna do. I hear soo much about JROK this and JROK that, I was wondering does the JROK play Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Primal Rage, CPS1,2,3 fine?

I hear it depends on TV, how can I find out if TV supports these games, aside from just trying when I blow 80 or so bucks on a JROK?
:help: :buttrock:

Never had a problem with CPS 1 or 2.... 3 should work also.

Primal Rage might give you problems...

UMK should work with most TV's

Primal Rage uses an odd video timing that can set off the Macrovision copy protection on some TV's/VCR's. Doesn't happen very often, but if you get a sync regenerator board it fixes it.

CAn you go into details about Sync regenerator boards and how to get them?

Appreciate it very much.

I had a problem with my Primal Rage, and I emailed JROK about it and he mailed the the board.

I think the colour issue is to do with the burst pulses on the front porch of the composite video waveform, something is lost in the encoding. Not shure about ntsc but with pal the colour killer on the TV is enabled as far as I know. Need to experiment further.

UMK3 works splendidly on my TV with my JROK 3.1

There's one part of the bottom of the screen with a Syn Stretch but who cares. No color loss, or anything else bad.

I have yet to try Primal Rage, cause I can't figure out the pinout of the extra Kick harness or where to put it. If anyone could help me out with that, I'd appreciate it.

I've looked at the manual but get lost in its crappyness. :idiot:

There is no extra kick harness for Primal Rage. The game uses the 3 standard JAMMA buttons, along with the Start button, and that's it. The start button functions as one of the gameplay buttons.

So you're telling me, that START is a button used as an attack button?

There has to be a way around that, cause that's ridiculous!

That totally throws off my wiring and layout of a game controller.

That is the name of the proction company that makes an RGB -> TV encoder.

The device allows you to display Arcade RGB signals on a television set.

I'm not kidding, and I do not know of a way around it. Remember, these games were not made with home users in mind to be perfectly compatible with home made controllers. They were designed to be wired up in a cabinet for months/years at a time.
