What I really need is the artwork from the AES cover, without any logos or lines through the artwork, and I need it scanned at a really high dpi so I can get it printed for the sideart of my cab.

Anyone have any?

(oh, and if you have just the logo too)

Mark of the Wolves?

Edit: Sorry for sounding stupid, but if this is what you mean, I have a 2000x3000 pixel scan from the SNK Characters - All About Illustrations artbook.

Um, yeah. Are you wanting MOTW artwork?

These for your Garou dedicated cab? You wanting art from any game, or art from artbooks, or maybe Wild ambition arts?

If you're interested in Wild Ambition arts, give me a PM. I'll see about e-mailing you a *.zip.

Yeah that is exactly what I need (if the dpi is over 700 I should be good), I think you can email it to me if it isnt over 2mb, nesagwa@earthlink.net

Ehh... I'm really clueless when it comes to determining DPI. This is something I downloaded, not that I scanned myself. The file is 1.39 MB, so I guess I'll go ahead and send it.

The higher the resolution, the higher the meg count will be for the file. I've scanned images at 400 dpi and that yields a file over 10 megs.
you are going to definitely need to hookup with somebody who has a cable connection(if you do as well) or have it burned on to a CD for you because I'm thinking that you may want to have th eimage scanned at 900 DPI which is defintely going to be a file over 100 megs after it's scanned into your cpu.

BB is right. I have worked a good bit with large files like that and if you plane on doing any editing work to the files then you better have some hoursepower. Good luck with your search. Are you going to build a cabinet or convert one?

The CPU I have now can barely handle 100 megs due to lack of memory and the MOTW artwork in the artbook is not as good as the one on the insert because if I recall correctly,ROCK's feet are cut off in the book but not on the insert.
motwposter.jpg

That really sucks because cropping that image to Rock's chest will look really cheezy.
Joe Mcbabe was selling MOTW posters but I'm not sure if it was identical to the insert or the size..this artwork needs to be no larger than 11x17 in area so that it can be scanned
You will be needing your MOTW art to be saved in EPS format if you intend to have it printed out professionally.
Ihave a scan of the insert but it's at 300 dpi and the logo and meg count are present of course.

you might also want to completely redraw the pic, cause even a blown up 900dpi scan won't look perfect.

i once scanned inserts at 700dpi and my PIII 800 with 256megs sd ram could barely handle those files ...

Thats exactly the art I want for it, too bad that book cut it off like that.

supergoose, what do you mean by redraw it?

1.: take the scan with the missing feet and blow it up

2.: take a scan of the feet and blow it up, so it fits the other part of the artwork.

3.: lock both layers

4.: start at least one new layer

5.: take the 'pen' tool and start redrawing all the black stuff. outlines and such.

6.: start a new layer, put it between the scanned artwork and the one with the black lines and fill the colored spaces as close to the original as possible.

hard to describe in a foreign language, but what i meant is that a scanned image will most likely look crap, since you would see all the little colored dots (magenta, cyan & yellow) and stuff ... maybe even some kind of moiré ...

example :

matrimelee manual 720dpi scan @ 100% :

http://home.arcor.de/supergoose/neo_geo/matri_before.jpg
http://home.arcor.de/supergoose/neo_geo/matri_after.jpg

it's only a start so you can see what i meant. just imagina what a higher res and more blown up scan would look like ...

Ive never really done anything like that in photoshop (or even used photo shop for much at all).

Are you sure that doing that would look good when its printed out?

it can look good, if you invest enough time. i'm not good at it either, but i'm sure you'll figuere out how to come up with something decent.
i mean ... at least you'd have an image without cut off feet or meg count boxes.

SG,that was an excellent description regarding procedure and I have the skills to do it BUT as you stated, that isreally a time consuming project.
There are features in Photoshop that will allow you shortcut the outlining of the image.
I mean,if this is your passion,it's a worthy project!!
ROCK just has to have his feet included in that image for sure!!

Well, I dont want to invest alot of time sitting here learning photoshop (I doubt it will even run on my PC very well, XP running on 128mb ram is a baaaaad thing).

I could just get the garou logo blown up for each side, but thats a little boring. Is there any other good artwork that would make for a good side art?

In a word 'NO'
When i get around to purchasing another stick of 512 meg DDR(I think that's what I need) ram,I'll scan it for you BUT I'm quite backed up now on promises..so if I were you.I would focus on the rest of the cab for now.

just had another idea ...

get the poster, some paper that you can somewhat see the poster through, if you put it on a window or something. draw the outlines on the paper you put over the poster. afterwards you can transfer it to the side of your cab. and get yourself an airbrush set or ask someone to brush it for you.
