Nyt meitä on jo kokonaista 4 tässä threadissa. Montakohan lymyilee vielä jossain? Onko kellään mitään hajua montako AES konetta on suomenmaassa? Entä miten on MVS kaappien laita?

Itse ostin juuri Samurai Shodown III ja Metal Slug X uudet kitit. Ja tilasin juuri myös Arcadeshock.comista Metal Slug 4 ja 5 kitit.

Ostatteko omia kamojanne aina ulkomailta, vai onko teillä joitain suomen kontakteja? Itse olen väleissä realgames.org miehen kanssa. Kannattaa tsekata, vaikka sen nettisivut ei olekaan pelien osalta ajan tasalla tällä hetkellä. Mitä muita myyjiä suomesta löytyy?

Jep, Georg on reilu kauppamies, itsekin olen häneltä suurimman osan hankkinut.
Tietty Ebaystäkin on jotain tullut hommattua.
MS 4 ja 5 pitää vielä kyllä itsekin hankkia. Kolmonenkin vielä puuttuu. :oh_no:

Oli pakko hiukan kurittaa pankkitiliä kun pelkäsin, että ne Metal Slug vitoset loppuu kohta. Meinaan, että Neostoresta ne jo loppuivat, noustuaan 199:stä 219:ään. Mä tein varauksen arcadeshock.comiin ennen kuin ne nosti omia hintojaan, ja sain sen vielä vanhaan 199 hintaan. Ja toisin kuin neostoressa, niillä oli mukana iso markiisi. Ja Metal Slug 4 oli pakko ostaa samalla, kun sitä myytiin hintaan 179, mukana iso markiisi. Kuukausi sitten täällä foorumeissa myytiin samainen kitti hintaan 250!

Sitten multakin puuttuu enää kolmonen. Säästetään paras viimeiseksi. :glee:

Ja vaikka mun kukkaro nyt itkeekin, ajattelin että ostetaan nyt noi molemmat pois, kun nyt kaupasta turvallisesti saa. Vielä ei ole yhtään bootleggia tullut ostettua, mutta Metal Slug 5 kanssa se olisi enemmän kuin todennäköistä. Niitä ei aitoja eBayssa liikukaan.

Ja mitä Georgiin tulee, mistä se taikoo niitä kittejään? Ja onko se ystävällisyyttä vai tietämättömyyttä, kun se myi mulle täysin mintin Puzzle Bobble 2 kitin hintaan 100€? Siitä sais täällä silmänräpäyksessä ainakin kaksi hunttia.

Mun mielestä hän hankkii niitä kittejä ainakin Italiasta.

Ystävällisyyttä tai ei, Georg on asiallinen kauppakumppani ja tietää kyllä mihin hintaan noita myydään. Itsekin hankin iskemättömän PB2:en Jorilta.

Suomen markkinat ovat kuitenkin aina hyvin suppeat ja hinnat sen mukaiset.
Näähän tuppaa täällä maksamaan aivan älyttömiä hintoja puhumattakaan jostain ebaystä.
Neo on mun mielestä saamassa (tai saanut) liian "elitistisen" maineen pelikoneena just näiden törkyhintojen vuoksi. Noh, se on vaan mun mielipide.... :annoyed:

No, kyllä Neo on musta nimen "elitistinen" ansainnut. Tosin sehän on vaan positiivista, ainakin sisältäpäin katseltuna.

Mutta ei ne pelit niin kalliita ole, varsinkin jos hankkii vain MVS irtokasetteja. Jos haluaa täysiä kittejä tai AES Euro Kizunan joutuu maksamaan enemmän.

Joo, kyllä Georg on hyvä äijä. Ja vaikka Suomessa toki on eri hintataso, ja tämän paikan price guidet onkin yläkanttiin, kyllä mä silti väitän, ettei hän aivan ajan tasalla ole. Mutta tuskinpa Georg tappiolla myy ja me ostetaan meille hyvällä hinnalla. Eli kaikki on tyytyväisiä. :D

Mä hankin oman DC:ni vuosi sitten, ja olin aivan äimistynyt siitä. Onhan se kuitenkin jo tätä sukupolvea. Todella hyvä ja monipuolinen laite. Sulla on vielä kissanpäivät edessä, kunhan saat hankittua Shenmue 1 ja 2:n ja REZin.

Soul Calibur 2 sulla jo tietenkin on Cubelle, mutta yksinpeli on taistelupeliksi todella mannaa, joten suosittelen myös ykkösosan ostamista DC:lle. Skies of Arcadia kannattaa DC:n sijasta hankkia GameCubelle, jos sitä ei vielä ole.

Ja tiesitkö, että DC:n Phantasy Star Online pyörii vielä Euroopassa? Ja kaiken kukkuraksi, se on ilmainen!

Onhan se laajakaista harvinainen. Mutta ei modeemista muuta tule kuin puhelinlaskut. "Ilmaisella" tarkoitin sitä, että GameCubella ja Xboxilla PSO lystistä joutuu maksamaan extraa. Se tulee siis jopa Xbox liven normaalilaskujen lisäksi.

Muita hyviä DC pelejä: Jet Set Radio, House of the Dead 2, Virta Fighter 3 tb, Resident Evil: Code Veronica... Tuo jälkimmäisenä mainittu on itse asiassa parhaimmillaan Dreamcastilla, sillä se hyödyntää sitä ohjaimeen tulevaa VMU ruutua ehkä DC:n peleistä parhaiten: Siinä on sun elektrokardiogrammi (eli elämä). Eli ei tartte koko ajan availla pauseruutua. :glee:

Yeah, I guess there haven't been many. All the glory to us. :D

But where should we have this meet-up? I would be happy to host, as long as everybody would be okay to come to Espoo (Espoon Keskus, a few minutes walk from the railroad tracks).

Naturally games can be brought over, so I guess the location is up to the existing hardware.

And IMHO we need an MVS. Me and Viaton have some great games that no-one has on AES. Also one pair of gamers could use the MVS and the other could use the AES on the TV. So it's either me or Viaton (Who lives in Helsinki. Middle ground)

I have a 32" widescreen TV, the MVS cabinet, and GameCube, Xbox, Dreamcast (And the older stuff, but I don't think we'll be playing those.) But I don't have an AES. If we don't play at Viaton's place, would it be out of the question for someone to bring their precious AES?

Like I said , I'd be happy to host, but what are everybodys thoughts on this?

My poor Neo AES... it sits atop a shelf, opened up, guts exposed to the world, awaiting either myself finding the nerve, or my friend (who is experienced) to do the RGB bypass fix. Damn, those solder points are just a bit too close for comfort, I think i'm waiting this one out, and hope my buddy finds some time.

About a party, I really need plenty of notice, being in my situation (wife and little baby girl), so something to bear in mind.

Tony N: 1 old-style controller and SNK vs. Capcom Chaos
RockstarRunner: KoF '02 and Garou: Mark of the Wolves

I think these are the things we NEED. Naturally, if you want to play something else, bring it. But are everybody cool with the previous listings? (For example, does your AES work, Viaton?)

Well my AES will be working again by then, and I can bring it, after this mod it will have perfect RGB output, I already have fitted the debug bios and a power led. I'm going to put some stuff about it on my web page when its all done, i'll link it then.

I have 1 old style controller, and 1 hori fighting stick, very solid, good for abusive type play, could be worth bringing.

Should I bring Shock Troopers? And if you haven't played it, and don't worship it, go stand in the corner and feel ashamed! :shame:

Yeah, bring Shock Troopers too. I haven't played it, but I'm looking to buy it. I've heard good things. But I just noticed that you should propably also bring Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, too. You got some great games, buddy! I'm just worried about your long journey from Vantaa to Espoo. So If someone else has debug-bios fitted machine, he should bring it. After all, RR is already providing us MOTW. Let's not push our luck. :glee: :D

But we can sort these things out later in the month. But is there a weekend in this month, that won't do to someone? I have nothing specific.

Yeah, I like my collection, I only intend to get the games I really want, like my current collection, to which I plan to add Metal Slug 3 JP when I can.
And, as I mentioned to you via PM, i'd also like KoF ´03 & SSVS, but those i'll only get if I can aqquire with little hassle and when I can spare the money.
Shock Troopers is excellent! RBFFS is really my favourite fighting game, it's so beautiful and really fun to play.

So finngamer, do you live in a rivitalo or something? just wondering how you could fit a cab in an apartment if you don't...

I feel the possibilities of DS are endless. Even though the graphics aren't up to par with, say GC, it's still better than the N64. That Metroid DS looks great, IMO, it has just lost some light sourcing, etc. when compared to the GC version.

The biggest asset of DS is GBA compatibility. You can't argue with that. Also important is the 100$ cheaper price tag than the PSP's. But I have no delusions, that PSP won't sell. But the DS SHOULD far outsell it.

The touch screen is massively innovative. You can use it to draw, it can act as menus, or as an another control method. Like i said on the E3 thread here; That's true analogue control if there ever was any.

Suomi = Saw-me = Finland

Suomalainen = Saw-ma-lie-nen = Of Finnish origin


This is as close I can get if your talking UK english dialect.

Using a wrapper for the X800 demo you can run the demo on cards with a R3x0 chip instead of the new ATI cards with R420 chip.

If this is old news to some or all of you, sorry. But Yesterday I just noticed that Tennispalatsi has an Outrun 2 cab! I immediately played a few credits. Haven't played arcade games in a loooong time.

I also snooped around and beside the quiz-machines, in the second floor, I found a Sega Naomi! But it's games were weird. It had a selection of 50 2D games, half of them Neo games. What's the deal? Are they emus or what? It had Metal Slug 1 and X, KoF '99 and 2000, Shock Troopers 2, Karnow's revenge, Neo Bomberman, Captain Tomaday, Andro Dunos, Aero Fighters 2, Windjammers, Magical Drop 2, Neo Turf Masters... And Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter 3 Alpha...

What do you think? Oh, and Razoola, any good places to play arcade in Turku?

Well, I was down at Kinopalatsi on tuesday to catch Kill Bill Vol. 2 & Van Helsing. They have a few arcade machines there, but I didn't have any time to go play, not to mention loose change in my pocket. Mostly looked like the regular modern day suspects.

I really wanna go take a look at this funky Neo-Naomi sounds really dodgy to me, legal-wize that is.

Yeah, I know Kinopalatsi has a few also. But Outrun 2 is propably the newest in the whole country.

About the Naomi, it had stickers on it, that said "Crystal" or "Crystalis System" or something like that. No way it uses standard Naomi technology (aren't they GD-ROM based? Like the DC?). I know there has been a Crystal System (It's been sold even in the Neostore), but I didn't know that they could be used like this; as a selection of 50 games. Best to my knowledge, it was a Jamma compatible cartridge based system. Which had, like, 2 released games.

I'm going to post this on general discussion.

And as for the Blue's Journey, no thanks, not even at half the price... I know you have to consider yourself a collector in some regard to own an AES, but I only intend to get the games I really want, and that would be only Metal Slug 3 to go, shame I won't be able to afford one for a couple of months atleast. I decided I will not get SSVs, I have 2 and that will do.

I will try to get photos online, but in the meantime someone requested a detailed description of thee aof`s condition

Insert : good condition, nothing torn or broken, same goes for the snaplock, on the front, the insert is slightly indented due to the indentations in the snaplock and of course the sunfade on the spine of the insert, most noticable on the red bands of text & on the screenshot & blue SNK logo

Cart: insertion marks, nothing radical and a small scuff mark on the other side of the cart; sticker and gold warning labels are perfect

Manual; good, nothing torn, broken or bent, etc. includes manual baggy

It may take a while to get the pictures online, since I have some problems in that department (I have to loan a digicam & get one of my of my bastard friends to host `em ) I am a luddite, I`m writing this out of the local library so if thete are lots of spelling errors, It´s because of the lady who keeps breathing down my neck, wanting to use this terminal.

As to what I could bring... I sopose a few universe bios chips and the latest beta version I have. If kof2003 would be there that would be great as there are some things I need to test with that game so my vote would be for [C]. I must warn you though Im not the best fighter player so youll all beat me for sure.

Also a bit off mark but I could bring a CPS2 setup and a couple of games if you like.

Razoola: KoF '03 is AES :/ dunno how that would help with any testing you might've been thinking of, I have the debig bios piggybacked, so no easy swapping. On the other issue, nope, don't have that router, i'm using a roadrunner 44b, and some d-link wireless router.

How early are people planning to come over? And for how long into the night do you plan to stay? I'm cool about people arriving at, like, noon. But not everybody have to arrive at that time. Come when you want. And when it comes to playing video games, I don't need sleep. So no rush to leave.

About food, maybe everybody should bring something? Also, we have two grocery stores 50 metres from my place, and several pizza places to order from, I guess we'll have that covered.

The Universe bios is a simple install on any mvs apart from the MV-1B and MV-1C which require soldering. The bios basically allows region swapping and it also has a massive cheats database.

We blasted through Metal Slugs 4 and 5, had some tight matches in SamSho III, I showed RR his place in Puzzle Bobble 2 and he handed me my ass in KoF '02 and '03, as well as in Real Bout Special and Mark of the Wolves.

Anyhoo, how do you, um, open it? There seems to be just one screw, but it won't open nicely even if I remove it. Wouldn't want to force it. Any tips?

I've been in and out of mine a few times... there are 4 screws on the older Neo's you need to remove to open the case, one should be visible in the bottom corner area, the other three are under the foot pads of the other 3 corners.

I will look up to see if any of the older Neo's had a socket, it's always a possibility.
The soldering should not be such a hard job, just need a steady hand and lots of tape!

Odds of finding a socket are low :( If you are going to do this, a socket is the only way to go, once you fit one it's a simple case of plug and play to update the chip. Raz, do you have any sockets? If not, do you know where to get them from?

Raz, it shouldn't work on SSV. To my knowledge the moves aren't there. But if they are, it should actually be easier to get them working, as SNKP wasn't directly after the Uni/Debug BIOS at that point.

But imagine the mess that would be created, if you'd get the fatalities in SSV but not in SSVS!

I'll be looking to get DooM 3 for the PC, of-course... but apart from that, i'll assess things as the games come out... SH4 and RE4 are givens of-course.

If those SSVS's get fixed i'll probably bite the bullet and get a Jap one before they dissapear from stock.

Finn, considering the logistic nightmare of returning your copy, are you still gonna go the Unibios route? Assuming Raz can fix it. Just want to know your thoughts on that...

But if not, I guess I'll be forced to return it. I do have an MVS cab, you know. Sad, really.

But if everything works out, you should definetly get one too! It's the quintessential SS game, with a dreammatch-like character roster (Even though Poppy isn't there :crying: )

Don't you have a socketed AES that you could bring along to the meet? (the 14th is still on?)

I think we will just have to put a socket in your AES finn! If Raz can get hold of one... I have soldering gear, and aslong as we are carefull we could do it there and then... the desoldering shoudn't be too hard, just heat the pin till the solder pulls onto the iron, repeat for all pins. Then put the socket in, tape up like mad and solder one by one.

14th is still okay with me.

That would be too cool for school. Think about it. We're just chilling, playing games AND RESTORING THE FATALITIES TO SSVS! That would be a nice announcement to make here at the boards. :mr_t:
