Capcom's 3-4 player beat em' ups. *sniff*

Those games were made for Saturday nights at the arcade in the early/mid 1990's.

Konami's TMNT 4 player arcade game. I cant believe the hours and quarters I spent at the liquor store playing that game as a kid.

HEAVY GEAR! Er, I think that was the name... it was from about 15 years ago... Kind of Ikari-styled, had a rotating joystick to fire in all directions, and you collected pieces of a weapon as you went along. When you got all the pieces, you had a super weapon that blasted everything for a couple minutes. The trick was not picking up the last piece until you got to an area you really needed it.

Besides that: the original Mario Bros. When played to kill the other player, this is one of the most fun games ever created.

Also, FFS. When I had to stretch one 50 yen coin out to cover the entertainment of an entire day for my broke ass, FFS or FF2 plus a game ceter full of comp was there for me.

I played a lot of the Konami side scrollers, such as TMNT, X-Men, Simpsons. Final fight and double dragon were also good. SF2 CE is one of my fav all time fighters and if you look at my sig, you can see what may be my all time fav fighter ;) Also played WWF Superstars and Wrestlefest as a kid. One of the earliest games I can remember playing was Ms Pacman at a local pizza place. This had to have been around 1987 or 1988 I'd guess. I will probably be spending more and more money on this hobby i'm addicted too, but I wouldn't have it any other way :buttrock:

My vote would be for the X-Men arcade game, especially the huge-ass two-screen six-player version.

I almost forgot about some fun ass arcade simulators. I forgot what these games were, but they were both from Namco. One controlled a flying bicycle by pedaling, and the other one 2 people simulate paddling a raft down a wild river.

As for me most genres have too many contenders and I don't wanna break my brain today...but I will mention this one:

Championship Sprint
if it wasn't for the whole need to eat/sleep/etc. my brother and I could easily play this game FOREVER...

Heh. A few friends and I did the same thing with the original Gauntlet. I was the wizard and my buddy played the elf. We'd let ppl join in and if they played good, we'd support them. If they tried to double-cross us, we'd get into a level where shots stunned other players, stun them and push them into a room full of ghosts.

Can we say "Human Ghost Vacuum?!!" :glee:

Heavy Barrel...yeah, that's the one. I loved that game; how could I forget the name?! And I can't believe I forgot to mention Sprint! The feeling when you make it through the closing door just in time, or grab the wrench just before your friend... that is a great game. You'd think they wouldn't hold races where there were tornados constantly going through, though.

As long as I'm posting again, let me add Outrun.

Me and my brothers used to walk to the nearest 7-11 (about a half an hour walk) and play Altered Beast and Dragon Spirit. They had the machines side by side, we would spend all of our allowance on those games. Eventually they were replaced by a Rampage machine, and after that slurpee machines (we were so sad to see them go!!!)

Hmm, unless your refering to a different game: your thinking of Raiden (or raiden 2) and the PSX version was Raiden Project. In case you wanted to find it.
