I decided to run downstairs to play it on the NGCD.

damn I love this game.. major credit goes to AOF for the great review.

Yes - I agree

Just picked up the home cart - it's one cool shooter - the tunes are excellent <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

But bloody tricky though <img src="graemlins/help.gif" border="0" alt="[Help]" />

Has anyone actually ever beaten the game? I can´t even beat the second (crab) Endboss!!!!I have finished other shooters like Last Resort and Pulstar, so I am not such a bad shooter.

If you beat Pulstar, you should beat Viewpoint... it's easier

I can't get past the crab either..

He turns into a brain and just doesn't want to die.

thats what I like about this game.. its so fucking hard.. but makes you come back.

It is a great game and the techno music rocks. however its one of the toughest games i ever played at the arcade. it looks so good but i hate the way if you get killed you get taken back to the begining of the level as the stop points are so far apart. i never even got past the first stage .
but still a great game

I beat it and to tell u what one of the hardest Bosses is the last one ( UFO ). The second is level 4 ( faces ) the others are not so hard.
The ending of viewpoint is a little disapointing, u see the Planet and it explodes thats it ( as far as i remember ( i took a photo of it ).

As for the Crab ( Level 2 ) this boss is very simple to do. Just fire qiukly all the time ( extremly when the bubles come out ). when the crab finished blowing bubbles at u u can also try a Blastshot for killing on of the hands.
If the scale is gone only use blasts ( not smartbombs ) to shoot at the brain. After 3-5 hits it will be finished.

I have given that damn crab-brain thing a hammering quite a few times...

it just doesnt want to die.. I usually save one special for when it gets to the brain bit.. and use it.. then hammer it with shots.. but my finger gets tired and I get killed..

However I'm playing it on ngcd with a pad.. so I might improve when I get a stick in my hands..

Me too, i´ve passed Games like Pulstar, Last Resort on Hard, even Gaiares and Hellfire on MD/Genesis, but this damn LVL4-Endboss blows me away. <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" /> BTW GREAT GAME!!!

Level 4 Boss 4th face - that`s where the unpredictable fun begins ...

Man did I have a great day when I finally killed that m*****f***** after 8 years of trying. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> But it will return in Level 6 <img src="graemlins/eek2.gif" border="0" alt="[Eek 2]" /> not too tough this time though. Level 5 boss is a piece of cake but Level 6 boss - first I thought "Oh my God - even tougher than Level 4 Boss" but he`s easier in a way - beat him in 2 days (compared to 8 years quite short isn`t it?

But how in heaven`s hell do you survive Level 6 in Pulstar ??? <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" />

Hmm well try to remeber where the enemys come from.... they usually act the same.
So if u know where to go u will pass it.
Anyway i played on CD without any cheats.... took my quite some time, but u can do it.

My Master is Magican lord i just cant beat the stage where all bosses ( mid and end ).... and u only got one try because when u die u only got 3 Engergy stripes left and thats to low.

Maybee i scan the Photo from the Viewpoint ending at work.... but its a little shakey.

Pulstar - funny thing is I remember I beat the CD version but the cart version seems to be much harder - or am I getting stooopid?

You guys increased my appetite to play Viewpoint. Before today, I only bet the crab once, but today it wasn't a problem anymore. My secret: Only use the charge shot and don't destroy too many bubbles, there is enough space to avoid them. The brain won't be a problem, just concentrate. My master at the moment is the level 3 boss. This game is great.
@ Ralph: Freu dich auf Level 8!
@Gamemaster: Alle Zwischenbosse sind ohne Energieverlust zu besiegen, der letzte Boss auch. Wenn du bei bestimmten Probleme hast, lass es mich wissen.

Ja stimmt ich bin bei der Krabbe auch immer nach links oben geflogen und habe dann immer fett geballert. Die Biene ???? pah die ist billig, wenn du kannst setze eine firewall ein wenn sie unten ist so das die wand immer da nach oben geht wenn sie wieder hochfliegt... ein paar schüsse mehr und sie ist wech.

Zu ML naja habs schon ewig nicht mehr gezockt... ist einfach zu schwer und unfair.
