This is a total noob question, but if anyone can help me out, it would rock. I have a rev. 1 Hyper Neo board and a Supernova. Now, I know I need to wire the +5 volts to keep from burning it up. My PSU in the Supernova has little screws that crimp the wire down. There is +5 15VA and -5 1A, a +12 V4A, COM [x2], a symbol, that is a few horizontal lines, AC/N, and AC/L. What does COM represent, and what are the AC ones?

The power cable that came with the Hyper has the 2 red wires for the +5 and the 2 black for ground. My question is, do I connect both red wires to the one +5 terminal? And where do I wire the ground wires? Also, there is ground wires for the speakers as well, which I was going to wire to some RCA jacks [not even sure it will work, but I'm a little clueless on the whole "ground" wiring thing] If you can't tell I'm a little new at all of this. Any help you guys can throw me would be awesome.

thanks!!!

Guessing here, but making an educated guess.

COM=common, AKA ground.

AC/N=AC (Alternating Current, what your house operates on) Neutral???????? (not sure)

AC/L=AC Live????????? (not sure)

I'm sure that com is common though.

Cool, so COM is ground. If thats the case I should be cool, then. Any reason there is 2 of those???

I'm pretty sure the AC's are going to the power chord. Anyone else attempted the same setup?

there are two of them because you need to wire it to LOTS of stuff :) There should be 6-8 wires going to your harness alone.

The little sc200's that I use for my superguns have 3 grounds :) and I use them all!!

awesome, thanks. I think I was overthinking it. NGT, what the hell is the little knob there on the top of the power supply on the Supernova? I noticed it earlier tonight.

The little knob adjust the voltage for fine tuning of the proper power output. Adjust +5v to as close as +5.00v as you can. Check the voltage output buy using a digital multimeter. Recommend getting someone to help you who knows about electronics if you are unsure.

okay....wired the 2 reds to the +5 and the blacks to the ground [COM] The wires are pretty fat [or big boned, whatever] and I'm curious if they are getting the voltage they need, as they are sitting on top of other wires on the same terminal, they are bare wires touching [groping, whatever] and, since I'm not an electronics wiz, I need to know if that should be fine? Bare wires, touching the screw, and sitting on top of other bare wires. That should work, correct? Game works great, boots up fine. I just wanna make sure its getting what it needs.

cool! now if i stack one of those on the other....they will both get the voltage correct?

I'm running to the store now!

Yes... they will..

I'm pretty sure Radio Shack Carries these.

The round ended ones are more secure.
Just make sure to take a screw with you to make sure it fits through the hole.(from the power supply)

You may have to adjust for different games the voltage requirements. This isn't just for switching to other jamma boards, but some neo games prefer higher voltages. I run right now, 5.0 V, however some games like Bust A Move seem to run better at 5.2V.

None, the DIP switches do nothing, zip, zero, nada.

To get into the set mode , test mode, or service mode, or whatever you may want to call it, you need a test button.

Looking at the schematics, it shows that pin 15 is for the test switch, and pin R is for the service switch.

If your supergun does not have a test button, then try shorting pin 15 to GND. If that doesn't work repeat the same step but with pin R instead.

awesome, thanks!

Now I'm going to go have a talk with the dipswitches...

"I'm not mad at you....I am very dissapointed that you don't do anything."
