RGB Scart cable?

A question for all you knowledgeable folks out there!

Does the original Neo Geo AES Scart cable come with sound as well?

I have one that I purchased from another member on these forums, and when I plug it into the TV, it produces only the picture, but no sound - I have to tap the sound output from the headphone jack in the front of the AES.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Yes, the SNK cable outputs mono sound through the RGB connector.

What he said, the headphone jack will be giving you stereo though, so you might almost be better off that way.

So, if this cable that I received does not have sound, then it has been tampered with?

aren't most (or at least lots of 'em) games mono anyway? serious question.

See conclusion, jump to it.

Tampered with, broken, faulty. Maybe it's your neo, or oxidization on the pins, or a rare sunspot phenomenon. "My cable has no sound and it should" means nothing more than that - there's no sound. More research is required before a conclusion can be drawn.

open up the connectors and check the wires. www.gamesx.com has the pinout of the av port and the scart connector should have the wire at pin6.

My pal deffty has taken a look at the cable, and he tells me that the connectors for the sound have been cut off.

shouldn't the seller have told me beforehand about this...

Hello Mr Goose I think most of the games are in stereo,the only mono one I thought was snkvscapcom chaos pcb version....
