Slim pickings to say the least. One MVS seller that I missed and no homecart sellers. No PC Engine sellers, and a few Turbo Grafx and Saturn sales. I really tried to chop one guy down in a Saturn sale, he wouldn't budge, but I'll be back tomorrow :D

I also ran in to n-g.com member Stefan there. Had nice chat with him.

They main highlight was talking to fromer 76ers/Nets center Todd MacCulloch . I am a big guy towering at 6'10", but Todd stood over me at 7' tall. He was really nice too. We talked a little hoops, but then about games. He said was just looking from some old Atari carts and asked me what I was looking for. I told him mainly into SNK's NEO GEO homecarts, if he knew what that was. And said yeah, he has a super gun for the MVS stuff. He's collected alot of older boards and alot of CAPCOM stuff. I wished him well on his rehab of his feet and we parted ways. Definitely a cool dude to say the least :buttrock:

I had hoped to be there yesterday but it didn't work out.

I'm planning to be there today though around 10 or 11. I'm not as interested in buying stuff (I've got too much stuff as is right now), more just to see what's there.

I saw one beat up copy of Fatal Fury for $65... i laughed at the guy.

Other than that.. Jack Shit there.

I did get time in on the MAME machine playing SFA3 and owning the guy who was the king of the hill.. funny moment.

It's a great show if you like Atari.. if not, it's slim pickins or 50 copies of MAdden games to look through.

My girl and I had a lot of fun there yesterday (Saturday). I kicked ass in Gyruss and Tapper, she kicked ass in Tetris. I liked seeing all that really cool atari shit and I bought a replacement coleco because mine had fried. I wanted to participate in the Smash Bros. tourney but there was just too many people there, I couldn't spend all day there unfortunately. That woman who did the Atari artwork did a really nice job I think. I bought my girl a few nes controllers because she needed them and then we went shopping at franklin mills. Really nice but a tiring day.

I went there today, and played the one Mame arcade machine and beat some guy in KOF98. He said some of you guys were going to be there. But there were about no NeoGeo games, I saw one, it was an English Fatal Fury AES no instructions, for an unbelivable price of $60. I got my english FF AES for $7.50 off eBay.

I just got back myself, although unfortunately I didn't see any of you there.

Talk about Atari-heavy...it should have just been called Atari Classic. :p But it was still nice to play some of the old arcade cabs. There was probably more stuff to buy Saturday but it didn't work out for me to come that day.

Oh, and the saddest scene of the day had to be the N-Gage "booth," if you could call it that. All it was was a 2-player demo stand with a guy sitting there the whole day doing nothing. I didn't see a single person even try it out. Kinda felt bad for the guy...

It was a fun show all in all, I really did like the old arcade games, but it was really atari heavy. Many people associate Atari gaming to classic. I'm sure 16-bit gaming in a few years, when we are all in our 40s will be the classics for us.

I'm just happy I got my Saturn :D

I am also glad I didn't bring my AES. I was offered a free table for Saturday cause some how the guy who runs it saw my AES at my latest function at Villanova. I'm glad I turned it down cause some of the kids there BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THE PLAYABLE SYSTEMS. I was playing KOF2k on a MAME cab and some little kid came up to play and start slamming the shit out of joystick it buttons. Seriously was the worst case of button mashing ever. Just picture some 10 yr old literally taking his palm and slapping the buttons and then jerking the joystick. I was in horror and told the kid if he keeps it up he could break his hand.

Side note: I totally pwn3d him in KOF2k :p

I had a great time. the $10 to get in was money well spent. I got my Yar's Revenge and E.T. 2600 carts signed by Howard Scott Warshaw. that was cool.
I got a 3DO finally, and some brand new COLECO VISION controllers.

I did see an AES system on saturday going for $215. it was gone in a few hours. I also saw FF2 homecart for $50 and SAM SHO MVS for $10. I was wearing my SNK shirt and people were coming up to me asking me if i saw any Neo stuff around, that was funny.

the coolest things i saw there were the TREAMCAST and the Panasonic Game Q, and there was a turbo graphx Duo.

I was hoping for a MVS Cab but no luck :-(

redrum666,

No seriously, I totally pwn3d this kid for 0.00% APR and 0 down. :make_fac:

I am serious about the button mashing, though. It was so sad and if I saw some shit head kid doing that to my AES sticks, I would have freaked :smirk:

it's nice to see parents bring there kids to these things but some of them need a freaking leash. I saw some kids picking up super famicom games (in box) and tossing them onto the table. a saw a few "collector cringing" moments on the floor.

but there were also some very respectful kids there too, no doubt there parents are into gaming so they had some good roles models when it comes to taking care of games. the crazy kids are no doubt the larva of some yuppie scum, white bread, Upstart, blue bloods bringing there kids to a con to see the diversity of the culture.

One cool kid that comes to mind was one kid trying sell an N64. He couldn't have been more than 8, but he was hilarious. He was like a used car salesman.

"Oh this system is great. I just played it today, its all tested and works. It has some great games, like F-Zero. I beat it a couple weeks ago, great game. This whole package is only $60."

"Already have an N64, kid, thanks though."

"Oh, well how about $40."

<me laughing> "No thanks" :emb:

Funny ass kid. He ran up to one of my friends later and said,

"Do you have an N64?"

Friend responds: "Yes"

Kid runs away and searches for another potential customer :tickled:

i think that kid sold his set in the auction. $35 dollars if memory serves. better than trading it all in. i then saw him bid on some atari items, don't think he won any though.
a ko0l kid though, indeed.

I was there. I met one of you guys, because I remeber meeting you at Otakon last year. If you were playing MetalSlug3 during the SpaceShip mission with the guy with glasses, that was my friend.

I had one hell of a good time, Hardly any neo-geo shit, but I wasn't there for that.

I saw and picked up the 60 dollar Fatal Fury, and I tried to keep it into myself. The game looked like sombody played hockey with it, it was cracked and mangled AND to top it off, it had a part of a page of egm ripped out for the instruction manual! Umm...I'll give you five.

Somebody next to the MAME arcade set up a projector and he had SamSho4 on it, and this kid was slamming buttons like an idot thinking he was king of the world, well I got on there and kicked the crap out of him till I was sick of it.

I met the guy who made Yar's and ET, got his new game and his DVD that's all about how it was working at Atari, so I can't wait to watch that laiter tonight.

G4 was videotapeing this guy playing Bubbles next to me while I was kicking the ever loving shit out of Blaster, if you saw NickLombardo on the list, that's me baby!

I have to find sombody that can help me post my video's I took from my digi cam, I need to flip them around because I took them with my camara sideways and the crappy uploading program won't let me flip the videos.

I will deffentlly be going next year, the one sci-fi convention sucks ass and isn't fun anymore. If I can pay 15 bucks to go around, meet nice people play some arcade games, then hell I'm there.

Sounds exactly like the same kid I play KOF2k against. Literally just swatting at the buttons.

That projector setup was n-g.com's Stefan's cousin's set up.

SHIT, I can't believe all these peeps I missed :blow_top:

d00dz, I'm the big 6'10" haggling peeps to give dirt cheap Saturn and Dreamcast stuff :emb:

Hey Shady, tell him I want his copy of Third Strike for the DreamCast! I looked all over the place for it and struck out. Same with StarWars arcade and Gunstar Hero's could not find them, well guess there's always the bay!

Pictures coming in a few minutes! Just need to put them into the photobucket and resize them!

I got knocked out of the box like 2 matches later by some guy who was a REAL even matchup. PrI was surprised by the level of competition there. I had a good time.

Sorry about the hogging... ;) It was the first time in a while I've had serious SFA3 competition. I was excited to actually have a VS. match... and a good one at that.

Funny part was I was planning on switching the game if I won that match to Garou and phish for competition. Damn Ken user!

:tickled:

If you live in the area, another get-together may be coming together soon.

Oh if you fired up Garou, I would have been like:

"Get the fuck out my way bitches, I gotz some MOTW to be playing!" :buttrock:
I then probably would have gotten pwn3d, but I would have at least met you.

That's awesome you found some SFA3 competition. I haven't had any competition in 2D fighting since I was like 16 (21 now) and the VF4 competition has really dried up for me.
