Check the picture and see:

kerry.snow.390.jpg

The following excerpt (unrelated to the poll) is from the article it was attached to (Kerry was on vacation in Idaho) - I bolded my favorite section:

"On his first full day off, though, Mr. Kerry awoke determined to hit the slopes of Mount Baldy.

The image-conscious candidate and his aides prevailed upon reporters and photographers to let him have a first run down the mountain solo, except for two agents and Marvin Nicholson, his omnipresent right-hand man.

His next trip down, a reporter and a camera crew were allowed to follow along on skis — just in time to see Mr. Kerry taken out by one of the Secret Service men, who had inadvertently moved into his path, sending him into the snow.

When asked about the mishap a moment later, he said sharply, "I don't fall down," then used an expletive to describe the agent who "knocked me over."

The incident occurred near the summit. No one was hurt, and Mr. Kerry came careering down the mountain moments later, a look of intensity on his face, his lanky frame bent low to the ground."

I doubt he does now - but I'm almost certain that he burnt a spliff or two when he was in 'Nam. Anyway, it's really no big deal to me. If I were fighting in 'Nam, I'd probably take a toke or two myself. As long as his head's straight now, I don't really have any reason to hold it against him.

I was strongly considering writing something like that as an option, but I'd only picked 8 options and Buttafuoco, Buttafuoco, Buttafuoco won out.

If I was in Nam I'd probably be so high I'd be unable to walk.

Regardless, making an opinion on someone based totally on their looks is the epitomy of retardation and ignorance. If you're going to oppose someone, do so for valid reasons other than "he looks creepy."

And Nader would run this country into the ground.

Whether I think he looks like a weasel or not still won't make me vote for Bush. Maybe if Bush somehow came through on all his promises, such as raising 7 million jobs (he lost 3 million instead of gaining 4 million with his tax cuts, 7 million difference) or supporting his own legislations (No Child Left Behind among others) and stop helping his corporate friends (biggest tax cut for the rich, put a resolution through legislature that would allow companies an extra ten years to clean up mercury levels). Here's a tip for the voter who votes thinking Bush's tax cut policy is right: Permanent Tax Cuts don't work. Tax Cuts boost the economy in the short span, the reason Clinton's economy was miles ahead of Bush's is that he gave temporary tax cuts to boost during a downturn. Also, Kerry isn't going to take away your tax cuts, just the rich's. With that money he can actually give you afforable health care and give your child an actual education. If you think Bush's Tax Cut gave you money in hand then you need to think about how he raised your health insurance among other things and basically gave you nothing. Don't even get me started on the new "illegal immigrant" fiasco.

my stepdad told me that in Nam you could get "opium dipped marijuana cigarettes" (his words not mine) for a nickel, and he usually had about three in his pockets. he then proceeded to tell me that drugs are bad and i shouldn't do them, hipocrite.

Hehe, the 'Nam weed info sounds about right. Personally, I don't see what the big deal about weed is, as long as you're not toking on angel dust or something. I smoked a few in high school (maybe 10 or so), but never really understood the fascination.

I can see parents not wanting their kids to ever touch the crack pipe and shit like that, but a joint really isn't gonna make much of a difference, as long as the kid isn't susceptible to addictive behavior in the first place. For me, those joints in high school really did little more than allowing me to realize how ordinary and overhyped marijuana really is to me.

I'll take a six pack over a joint any day.

That guy in that picture reminds me of that Snickers commercial where that guy runs into the shed.

It's a good thing Bobak provided a picture... my eyes glazed over the title and I thought the poll question was, " Did/Does Kernow smoke out?"

Let's set some shit straight.

1. These are all labels that apply to EVERYONE in office.
2. These are all labels that apply to Bush with even greater intensity.

Get off your faux moral high horse. You know what I like in a candidate?
INTELLIGENCE. Someone that reads...things OTHER than the Bible.
The same reporter asked Kerry and Bush about theire favorite books.
Kerry kept on going and going...books of all different subjects.
Bush's response? 'I only need one book...The Bible.'

This is not the man who should run America. PERIOD.

If the election were this Tuesday, I prob wouldn't bother voting, and I follow the news/politics.

I don't like Bush or Kerry. And Nader is again just another pimple.
