If you want to do it "just like Kenny", you need to send your system to him. Or do you think you can achieve the same as a "Legend"? :make_fac:

actually, it should be fairly easy to add the LED's, if you are adept at doing the standard joystick mods.

I don't own a NeoGeo joystick, so my only question would be; Are the original buttons some-what clear , or were they replaced?

The buttons are obviously not replaced (try to find a replacement btw...). The white plastic on the inside was probably scratched off a bit to make the LEDs brighter.

This should be an easy mod to do.

LED's are easily available and hooking one up to the +5v line shouldn't be too difficult (assuming the old style stick has the 5v line alreadyO). If not, replace the cable with a new 15 core cable and hook it up that way.

Can't beleive how much those sticks sell for - for a few Led's.

:)

Just hot glue an LED into the back of the buton and rig up the +5V line off pin #8 and a ground and you're set.

You need a resistor in the line to bring the voltage down to what the LED wants. If you buy 2.2V LED's, and the voltage of the line in the NEO sticks is 5V, I beleive you need 150ohms of resistance.

If I am wrong, I would reeeeeeally like to be corrected, please.:)

Where to go from here

Thanks. But now, how do I open up my controller to install the LEDs? Even after removing one screw from the bottom, I still couldn't open it. Where in the AES system do I wire the LED for the reset button? How can I tell if my AES is American or Japanese? If it's the Japanese, do I have to use differnt resistors and/or LEDs? And when it comes to memory cards, if I have a Japanese AES system, do I have to use a Japanese memory card only, and not an American version? Will the Debug BIOS chip on both American and Japanese AES consoles? Please help!! Thanks!!:help:

LEDs usualy doesn't get warm, they are very energy efficiant and doesn't waste that much energy in heat as a normal light bulb.

How do I get the buttons off the switch shafts without runing them so I can stick the LEDs in the buttons?
