EDIT: Originally asking what were the favorite weapons, but now to just talk about the game in general.

After all the posts I've seen saying this games is terribly hard, I just got this game as of yesterday and ended up beating the shit out of it as today. I did catch myself on the verge of throwing my TG16 console across my bedroom yesterday cuz of that pit in the final stage where you have to dodge the ninjas to reach Hanzo the Fiend.

But what are y'all's favorite special weapons in the game? I like the bomb and the standard sword when powered up. When you got your phantom with the sword powered up, you're pretty much well protected cuz of how big Moonlight's slashing arc is.

Ninja Spirit... ahh a great game. I always adored ninja platformers like this along with Sega's big 3 Shinobis too.

I still have the game for my turbo express actually. Oh I voted for the sword.

I suck at this game. I have no idea how to beat the second boss. I think that it is some kind of tree level and he can move very fast. He hits me one time and I die. I think that sucks. I had enough trouble beating the first boss. Why did they have to make it where you die with one hit while fighting the second boss? I kind of liked the game till I got to him, now I can't play it anymore. I would have liked it better if it wasn't so hard. I looks pretty good for a 4 meg game. Too bad most Turbo Grafx 16 games are about 4 megs - probably why the system tanked in the United States. An 8 bit system with 16 bit graphics - a correct name for an underpowered system.

One trick is, after he climbs the tree the first time, jump when he's halfway done with turning around. The Bamboo bombs really plug this fucker up!

Thanks for the tip! I will give it a shot when I find the spare time. So he will climb the tree and throw a bomb at him when he is halfway done turning around. I don't remember the game too well. Does he have to climb the tree once, turns around, and then does what? How do I know when he is about to turn around? He usually puts me down within a few seconds. I wish I could see a video of this guy getting put down and then I am sure that I could get it. It is still pretty hard to put a boss down without getting hit once. I wonder if the rest of the bosses are like that. I would probably lose all my lives soon and get so pissed off that I would never want to play the game again. I think that the bosses in this game are over powered. I think that I will have a better time playing Ys III which I haven't beaten yet.

Yeah, it took me awhile to get used to this boss battle. If you got your posse (the phantom doubles) and your bombs are at full power, you can take down this boss extremely quick!

What I do is, I stand near the tree where he appears at and keep shooting the bombs as he becomes visible. he'll get hit for a bit, then when he turns around, with timing, jump to the nearest branch above you and I think he'll go to the tree on the extreme right. Jump down off the branch and then plug him some more, at that point he should die.

In level 3 it'll help to have bombs and phantom doubles, keep jumping up and down and just rain terror through the entire stage. Just keep your distance from the Fugitive Samurai Zombie, he's got a long ass sword with enough range to sweep your ass out of mid air.. You'll have to fight alot of those as the boss of Level 6.
