I finally got a Neo Geo AES, but I wanna modify it (I got someone in the family with an electronic background) with S Video and real stereo outputs, so here's a question for Kenny and all the other pros, et al. so how do I mod it just like Kenny's way? Any tips? Which method is the best, Kenny's way, or the one used in the tips from Neo Geo USA, or what? I want it modded without it causing any damage let alone cause a short or worse (according to my sister).:help:

Well - I'll just say this. Take your time, make absolute sure you know what you're doing, and be very careful not to sever any wires within the board. Take it from one who's been there :oh_no: :oh_no:.

If you are skilled with a soldering iron, and a desoldering iron, you can pull the old BIOS, and put a ZIF socket in. That way, you could put the orig BIOS, or wsitch to Debug BIOS, or eventually upgrade to the Universe BIOS (when finished for AES) without ever soldering again.

I'm not the best solderer around, but I am somwhat expereinced, and did it just fine. During the desoldering process, I did break a trace, and I had to bridge it. If that sort of thing frightens you, you should avoid removing the old BIOS, and do the piggyback thing.

I'm getting ready to do the S-vid mod, but am waiting on the Svid jack I want to use. In some ways, it's a more complex procedure, but soldering wise, it should be far easier than trying to do a clean desolder of the BIOS IC.

The Composite video and stereo mods were eeeeaaaasy, as it's just a matter of tapping the correct parts of the board.
