Metal Slug 5 Unibios prob?

I got a 2-slot today and plugged my uni-bios chip in from my 4 slot and when playing MS5 in console mode the buttons A-D don't work when the game starts. They will work when selecting options and selecting players but as soon as the game starts they stop working. the joystick, start button and select button all work fine?
Switch back to Arcade mode and they are all working again! Am I doing something wrong or is this a known fault as MS5 is a new game to the unibios 1.2.

This is listed in the known problems as the same thing also affects earlier games in the metal slug series. Basically to fix simply go into the options menu once in console mode and set up the button config manually.
