Can anyone verify that this is a boot? The game is Mark of the Wolves, I am guessing that the chips on the the right are the bootleg chips.... :(

Thanks for any help confirming this.

Nope, those 4 chips are EPROMs on some MOTW boards. Completely legit.

Enjoy playing this SNK masterpiece, and welcome to the forums!!

I dunno, V1-4 roms look fine, maybe they ran out of P1-4s during the production run and used those eproms to finish the run.
The rest looks OK to me ?

Sweet! And thanks for the help! :D I bought the game from a less than reputable seller on eBaySweet! And thanks for the help! I bought the game from a less than reputable seller on eBay... I am sure you can easily guess who that would be, but didn't realize who I was buying from until I had already paid (using one of his aliases). I guess I just lucked out... :D

Thanks for the Welcome, MotW is a great game, for now I will have to continue to enjoy it on my Dreamcast though... an MVS arcade unit is in my future though. (can't wait)

Actually those are the same specs as my cart, it is a green boxed Japanese version of the game... and yes that does look exactly like mine, I just opened mine back up and looked at the second board too. It also looks just like the one pictured. Now hopefully I didn't do any damage opening that thing up! ;)

I just bought one off a member off this forum and its got a whole other small PCB board wired on one of the 2 boards.. It even has its own gold connectors on it. You think this one is a boot??

I havent opened it up yet but i can see the boards since its in a clear case. Although it has the metalic reflective lable or whatever ya call it.

Edit: It has a normal lable. heh must of got it mixed up with another.

I will try posting a pick or 2 later on today. It seems real though since theres no eproms.. Though the black wire is on there attached to the little daughter lookin PCB board to the main.

Its in kit form with matching serials.

Cool...I'm looking forward to seeing the pics..
....

All in all I think you have a real cart..
I probably have a saved picture of a board set like yours somewhere in my computer.

I have a Metal Slug 3 that has the daughter board and wire as other members have the same cart...It's real/original..

Anybody had probs with this version of MOTW messing up on them?

This game never ran 100% via my phantom1, but now it is randomly resetting while playing on my MV-1.

Are there are versions of the game on MVS that don't have eproms? Cuz my AES one has eproms as well. I guess the eproms are what is causing the problem?

That's not a bootleg by far, I mean it's even 100% legit SNK boards aswell, it should have the "SNK" logo in white inbetween one of the pins on the side of the connector.

Mine doesn't have eproms.

there are about 3 or 4 different variations of legit versions of MOTW so your alright. I have actually only seen one boot in its existence and it was all eproms. and a hitty job at that. Boots are usually able to be spotted a mile away.
