I've been playing a lot of Samurai SHodown V (MVS) and last night I came across a bug while playing against Gaoh.

I was utlizing Haohmaru as my character and defeated Gaoh soundly in the first round. During the second round, Gaoh changed into his via the Rage Explosion (Abc) and promtply began to rhino charge me.

As he charged at me and almost before he hit me, I performed Haohmaru's standard whirlwind attack (qcf + a) which managed to hit Gaoh. Strangely, The cyclone sprite changed into the larger tornado tower sprite which was overlaid on top of Ghao's sprite. Now the weirdness...Gaoh remained motionless in the tornado tower and remained that way. Slashing at him would push him around a bit, but no damage was being done. Meanwhile, the Haohmaru's tornado attack projectile sprite remained in the middle of the screen. I could move Haohmaru freely around, but Gaoh remained frozen in his Rhino/Samurai form.

Finally, the round ended and the game resumed as normal with a new round. I've been trying to duplicate this bug but my timing seems to be off as Gaoh is able to hit me before I can get the projectile attack off. Anyone else aware of this and are there any are cool bugs like this in SSV?

There are many bugs against Gaoh.
Hes a mess.
One common one you've probably seen is backwards grabbing. He grabs you, you appear backwards.
Others are when hes coming out of transformation.
Hes the buggiest boss I've ever seen. Literally.

Yeah, I've noticed the backwards grabbing, but I didn't think much of it since similar things happen with other character's attacks (ie: Basara's Shadow Exit (rising uppercut move-f,d,df + S) and Shizumaru's Scarlet Sword Style (qcb + S) often hit the opposing character one way only to show the sprite's damage infliction on the opposite side). Didn't realize Gaoh was so buggy, guess I'll experiment a bit with other characters to see what I can find. :)

Coming from someone who just made a KoF 2000 Zero bug video that's kind of scary. Makes me want to avoid SS5 like the plague... :emb:

Remukhan made the vid, I was just a guest player in it.

Over all SSV is a good buy. You wont come in contact with many bugs.

Agreed. The bugs only really begin to stand out if you play the single player mode heavily. And even then, the bugs aren't too discouraging. Kind of cool little novelties in a way.

If you're mainly going to play the game in vs mode against some good competition then you're all set. SSV is a great choice at a great price.
