Played this the first time in a long time over weekend. Had forgotten just how good this game is.......was my very first Neo game played way back in 91-92. Anyone else given it a spin lately??????? :drool_2:

I've always loved Magician Lord but have yet to beat it to this day, the game just had too much "cheese factor" in it the way Ninja Gaiden often did with those damn birds bouncing you off into a chasm or something, and after some bad hits like that, it was one of those games where I'd end up replacing a sheetrock wall or buying a new TV set after I decimated all. One day I will beat it though. :)

I'm not old-school enough to like this game I guess. I do really like Nam though.

Magician Lord is my Fav all time game that never got its well deserved sequel. I can beat the game with 1 man (if I can cross the bridge on level 7 without getting knocked off by the flying turds!) the rest of the game is a snap. Too easy IMO. Especially level 4 and 5, man once you figure the ways to go....what doors to bypass and what to go into...its way to easy.. Now NAM 1975's end boss is tough to beat, allthough Ive done that also. :) and am I the only one who thinks Soccer Brawl and Baseball Stars 2 should have had some kinda ending ,,, I mean more than just credits. :P and congratulations! lol Riding Hero was great story mode, I kicked its ass also....I think Ive beaten all my Home Neo carts. lol

Took the words out of my mouth. The 1st level music, and especially the 2nd level music I really like most. I always appreciated how the NEO sound engineers seemed to prefer to use "orchestrated" instruments. And getting the loud "orchestra sound" by pressing Start to get the game going.... always fun to hear.

Also, to me since I played Magician Lord to death when I got my AES in March of '91, I always get a distinct retro feeling every time I play Magician Lord in the springtime.

Face it fellas, its one of the finer platformers ever designed.

Also, for the longest time of having the game, I've wanted a soundtrack of it. Unfortunately the game has those annoying timer of death enemies that kill you if you hang around for too long. Shit I even tried to cut n paste audio clips of the music with the PC... but then there came DEBUG BIOS, which allows me to pause the game with music, any time I want. Hmm I'm gonna have to get to work on recording me a soundtrack :)

one of the neo's finest games.

I have never finished it, but as I keep on playing it once a week or something, I will for sure finish it some day.

I love its athmosphere, its music and even the graphics (you gotta love the explosions of the enemies, etc)

Old school platforming at its finest.

Electroman,

Remember the NGCD version has the music as CD audio so you can rip the music from that and make mp3's if you wish. I think the music is pretty much the same as the MVS. Even has Japanese and English voices for the bad guy who says all that stuff before the boss fights.

Fakk2,

Good to see ya. Does it really? I haven't played this in awhile. I have to play it again to tell the difference. Are you going to the So.Cal gathering first week of April? Maybe I can give them to you then or I can come to yer place.

Thx... Yea I figured that but you know, I've made little soundtracks of videogames ever since the NES days. I enjoy doing it, its my own little pet soundtrack that "I made", and best of all, its free.

Cool avatar BTW... no other way to describe it... its uh.. cute...
