Metal Slug 5: Who's still playing it?

I feel like I'm the only person playing this freaking game! Nobody talks about it but me.

All those people that got the rimm_rs preorder, and yet there's hardly any talk about it.

Is it because there's not much to discuss gameplay wise, considering its just another Slug and it plays just like the rest of them? I don't know, I sure could use a good strategy on beating the Stage 4 Desert Submarine Boss...I can never beat him without dying, and I always get there with like 15 pow's...it really pisses me off:blow_top: Anybody got a foolproof strategy for him?

Anyway, here's some random questions:
What is your favorite stage overall? And what is the best you can beat the game without using the memory card, and on what difficulty?

My favorite stage is Stage 3 right now, its so cool with all the enemy slug gunners you get to destroy, and it seems to be the longest stage. I also think this stage is the most graphically impressive concerning the backgrounds. Also, I just today beat the game on normal difficulty using the starting 5 credits. It sucks, I can get thru about halfway of Stage 4 without losing a single life, but then its all downhill from there, especially once I get to the Stage 4 boss.

Dont fret man, I'm still playin it.

The rain of death from the 4th stage boss is pretty much impossible to avoid especially when you are required to jump.

How bout some tips for the last boss, those blue balls are even worse than the rain of death.

The day my aes copy came in I played it only once because I had lots of things to tend to. When I finally got the time to sit down and play it, I wasn't too blown away. I've probably had only 3-4 gaming sessions on this cart. It's a good game but nothing that makes me have to go back and play.

I played my MVS Cart of Metal Slug 5 just half and hour ago man, so you're not alone at all. I still like #4 better, but the final NEO installment isn't bad either, and has the best music of any of the series to date.

No worries man, I still play it. I love Slug 5. I was one of the rimm_rs orders, and the only thing that would've made me happier would be to have more of the cinematic story. Otherwise I love this game. The final stage is my favorite because of the car slug! I love the car slug! I don't know why, but it just cracks me up to hear it rev up when you hit a jump, and I love the way Tarma's face looks when you push back on the joystick. He starts looking backwards. . . that just cracks me up.

I'm playing it. It's a decent Slug that has its merits in the franchise. It's true that besides the change in characters there wasn't enough imagination put into the game, like the other titles. But the new walker slug, car slug, mechs, and tanks are pretty fun to fight.

Need to find that turtle boss!

Honestly everytime I play MS5 I end up playing MS4 instead.

Don't ask me why, I don't know either.

does anyone know how many copies of MS5 were produced for the NGH? US or Jap or both?

I think it's around 250 US - I'd be surprised if it was more than 300. I'm not sure about the JPN copies.

I'd be happy to write a guide for it if i had it...but i opted for SS5 when they 24hr dealz hit. :annoyed: Soon as i get another job i'll pick it up and start complaining about blue ballz like everyone else:buttrock:

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't played mine in over a week. I've been putting time into SVC, MOTW, and on teh PC, BF1942 again.

I'll defend myself however by saying that its the only slug that i have been playing in a month however.

Oh, also forgot to mention that Slug 5 is an incomplete mess when you TRULY take a good look at what was left out. If they would have finished the fucking job that game would have been ALOT better.

I didnt enjoy Metal Slug 5 very much to be honest..

The part in the car was very fun... but the game is just way too short and way too easy.

Metal Slug 3 All The way!
