Might be in the wrong forum. However, I'll give it a shot, since if I get it, I get it for SNKP games. My question is, how many buttons does Atomiswave games make use of? I suppose its different for each game, but I mean, with SNK cabs you can play all games with 4 buttons, does that work with Atomiswave too or do I need like 6 buttons?

according to most the infor I've read, it uses 5... except for one game that uses 6.

So wire for six, its not like an extra button is going to hurt anything.

Yes. You only miss button 5. With Capcom-wired cabs you only have 3 buttons to use because they are "JAMMA+"-wired and have an extra connector (which does not plug into the AW) for button 4 to 6.

AW has all five buttons on the JAMMA edge.

No, I mean the kick harness for JAMMA+ uses 3 buttons, not the Atomiswave :).

AW uses five buttons, all located at the JAMMA edge.

I think this is incorrect. The AW has 5 buttons in the JAMMA harness, and no game as far as I know uses more than 5. Actually the only game that uses five is GG Isuka, while, for example, GGX uses 4 and Demolish Fist uses 3.

If some future game uses 6 buttons, most likely the 6th button, or maybe all of the buttons 4-5-6, will go wired to a cart in the expansion I/O bay on top pf the JAMMA harness.
