one of the most uninspiring 'cathartic experience' based movies I've seen.

you want to see this done properly, watch The Game.
Then watch it again.

I personally liked the film, though I only ever saw it once when it first came out, and remember having to wait half a year to see it because it was originally slated to debut at the time John Lee Malvo and the other dude were Sniping ppl in the real world. *I think the film managed to pull of what it intended to do, and I liked the message of the film... that "One Man" can make a difference and you never know who's out there. Stu was a shyster and he got played HARDCORE... not saying it was right, but his test was the pizza dude, and he failed. I more or less went to see it because Colin Farell is one of my favorite rock em' & sock em' movie stars coming up. I still think his best performance was his debut in the Joel Shumaker film Tiger Land that to me came off as a Vietnam version of "Cool Hand Luke" only I could relate better with his character in that film. I think Forrest Whitaker was a bit underused in the film, and I like the fact at the end, it's left up in the air as to whether or not Keifer Sutherland's character will be continuing his one man war against a society he felt at odds with, because that's how it is in the real world... the good guys don't always get the bad guy. In a rarity Hollywood didn't go for the sugar coated ending... like how the movie FACE/OFF had that GAY ASS ending with John Travolta walking out of a ray of light with his face back, when in reality (and John Woo's original idea that was nixxed) he would have been stuck with Castor Troy's face and his family would have had to have learned to love the man beneath the face of a monster.

I wouldn't say PHONE BOOTH is the best film on Earth, but it's worlds better than the shit that's being released currently in theatres right now, and that's not saying much being as this film isn't that old at all. ***If anything, both this movie and an older film with Anthony Edwards (Goose from Top Gun) called Miracle Mile has taught me never to answer pay phones that are ringing... as in that movie he learned that the world was 1 hour away from Global Thermal Nuclear War.

Actually, to make the most out of watching The Game, immediately stop the movie the second Michael Douglas smashes through the glass roof.

(Because everyone in here should have seen it, I'll be going into Spoiler Territory - so if you haven't, don't read below this...)

I was pleasantly surprised with it. I felt Schumacher had lost his touch (His early Lost Boys was fun trash, his Batmans were horrible, stinking, rotten garbage) but Phone Booth entertained me throughout.

It was fast paced, and ended at the refreshing 80-some minute mark (Pieces of April was another recent quick-paced movie - note to Hollywood: Not everything needs to be 2+ hours). The script was smartly written, as everything develops organically and realistically. Nobody acts stupid just to serve a plot-point. Everyone acts believable. Plus, Forest Whitaker is also in it, so it gets added points as he's the most underrated actor in the history of Film itself (probably...).

The main reason I liked it, though: the Bad Guy gets away at the end, and in most mainstream Hollywood movies, the only way that would happen is if the "Bad Guy" is converted, or changes his ways, or turns out to be alright, or something else to make him less bad. But this guy was just a sick monster with no redeemable qualities whatsoever, and he still gets away scot free. Nice touch.

So overall, three stars outta five. You gets your moneys worth, and it does everything it sets out to do.

I loved it personally. Farrell's best performance IMO. I wasn't expecting anything going into the film as I had no prior knowledge of it, and I was very pleasently surprised

One thing about phonebooth is I like the editing

The beginning shot shooting down from space into a phone...

When the screens split up all in concurrent time...

Very cool edits

Phone Booth was one of those movies that works the first time through. Ill admit back when I saw it in the theatres the first 10 or 15 mins seemed to drag and I thought wtf? then it got very interesting. Definitely a one time shocker though and after that no point in watching for a long time. Sort of like Runaway Jury, great movie but again a one time shocker.

This was an absolutely aweful movie. It was so constantly predictable that it must have been written by a retarded chimp. The directing was poor and the camera work must have been done by a hobo that was simply only working for food.

Seriously guys, this is coming from a guy that loves the game Riding Hero.

the perfect low budget movie, he spends the entire movie in a phone booth. I have to admit though, his acting was pretty impressive for being stuck in a phone booth. The entire movie depended mostly on his performance. If he sucked, a lot of people would have stopped watching instead of going through the whole movie.

Yawn..this movie makes me sleepy just thinking about it. Really the only redeeming thing about it was that it clocks in at a meager 1hr. 15min. I sure hope nobody wasted $8.50 to see this short of a film in theaters.

Colin Farrel's best performance? Hardly. Try Tigerland, or even his supporting role in Minority Report outshine Phone Booth, not to mention you'll get much more entertainment from either of those films.

PB is supposed to be a psychological thriller, but it only left me bored. It apparently wants the viewer to feel sorry for Farrel, by witnessing his breakdown and ultimate public humiliation where he confesses to his wife his cheating ways. However, this fails miserably because the movie never delves deep enough into the character development of both the Wife, and the Mistress(Katie Holmes) and their respective relationships with Farrel. I felt nothing, just boredom.

This movie is so bad, even Superman wouldn't dare use this Phone Booth. (that was bad I know:spock: )

My fiance' and I loved the movie really. Its not the type that I could watch over and over but wow what a fuckin kicker at the end too. I keep playing that guy's voice in my head over and over.... "Stu. Stu, I wouldn't do that if.... DON'T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT HANGING UP!"

The movie was fuckin rich, definately worth seeing if you like suspense.
