Should I pull the trigger and get one of these Dolphin Blue kits that Shawn is selling, or is the game too gay and expensive to buy?

It looks kinda cool - but I couldn't justify dropping that kinda dough for it.

Well.... I'm worried about that, too. I want the unit just so I can hurry up and get it. If this was GGX, I would have it already. It's just that I've heard some really shitty things about DB. I don't know...

i hope it's easy to buy bare carts soon, cause if you gotta buy a MB just to get a game, it'll suck. nice price shawn has though on sealed kits. wish he had GGXX instead of DB.

it's pretty fun and on par with ms in my opinion. relatively short (5 stages), but lots of replay once you start to hone your game and not continue hundreds of times on freeplay. i haven't seen demolish fist yet, but i'm happy with dolphin blue. pretty cool game. don't get me wrong it's certainly not the best sidescroller/shmup but it's got some very nice sequences in the game.

Well..I'd say wait..
I personally want this game, but I'm waiting for the price on the set-up+game to drop a bit...(hopefully)

Depends on how bad you want it....I'm in no rush..

Member lill-c has it and he likes it..plus he showed me some pics and it looks pretty good.

Why not buy a Atomiswave with Demolish Fist at Coin Op? Dolphin Blue looks lame to me. Anyways DF is a complete kit , comes with box and manual. They quoted me $495 Shipped ups express. Not bad. Told Lucy to hold one for me til the following week.

I'd wait man. I've heard a lot of mixed shit about that game.
Atomiswaves will be growing on trees if all the rumored Playmore games for it materialize. Why get stuck with a bum game? If you can find DB locally, blow $5 on it first and see what you think.

Well, that's what I was going to do, since everyone said that coinopexpress sells them used. But on their website, they say that all AW units they sell are brand new. So now, I'm back to them being very cheap again... and again, they have GGX. Hmmm.

Shawn, why did your first game have to be DB? :(

CoinOP dont have GGX in the HK store in-stock, I asked. They only had the game in their Australia store, and wanted $88 for EMS.:crying: So I went with Demolish Fist instead.

I'm tempted to get an Atomiswave for my Neo29 cabinet (I'll have it in a few weeks, yay!) but I'm confused about what games it's getting. The current ones look poor to OK, not enough to pay the big bucks for yet.

I've read conflicting reports on what games will come to Atomiswave.

Does anyone have some dependable sources of info regarding what's really coming out for Atomiswave? It's basically a Dreamcast with ROM carts, so should be easy for companies to develop for, just a matter of them getting it done. I'd like to see Atomiswave or something become the "next NeoGeo" in terms of lasting a long time and building a library of great arcade games.

Thanks.

I would prefer DB instead of DF.

I'm a HUGE beat'em up fan, but DF is just ugly, lame and boring. DB, judging by the screens and by what the people are talking about this game, it looks much more interesting to have.

In Sammy's website it's said that these games are avaliable:

Rumble Fish
Guilty Gear X 1.5
Guily Gear Isuka
Chase/Chicago 1949
Dolphin Blue
Knights of Valour: the Seven Spirits
Demolish Fist
Ranger Mission
Sport Shooting USA
Maximum Speed
KOF NeoWave

SNKP announced that Samurai Spirits AW and Metal Slug 6 are in the works.

But were are the shooters? AW hardware seems to be fucking suitable for this kind of game.

dolphin blue isn't terrible. but I wouldn't play it for fun either.
it's not even on the same scale as metal slug as far as I see it.
the weapon variety is scarce and dull and you get stuck with a regular
gun half the time instead of something like the heavy machine gun in slug anything.
I think if the weapon drops were better it would be a better game by 40% right there.
but there's also the graphics. the slug games have a certain charm since it's all
uniform and animated.
db is psuedo 2d over 3d which I don't think works at all.
it has the feel of a dreamcast game with what's going on in the backgrounds and all.
kinda like marvel vs capcom 2 on a larger scale.
the novelty of riding a dolphin gets pretty old too.
it's an okay game, but I wouldn't spend over 100 for it myself.
