Master of Syougi - Gameplay advice

Hello all!
One of my more recent MVS additions has been MASTER OF SYOUGI. I've been slowly learning the game by way of trial and error and have begun to make progress, but I still cannot beat the first opponent.

Could someone direct me to a faq or an in-depth review that has some more advanced gameplay tips and strategies in it? Thanks in advance!
