Ok,
so do I need to wire +5V on the joystick ports of a supergun?

I think I remember reading that you don't if you're using the Old School "click sticks."

And maybe not for the New Version Stick?

What about the Hori stick? Or the MAS stick?

But definately for the CD pad, right?

Thanks-

You need 5v for New Style ("jelly bean") NGH sticks as well as the Neo CD Pad. You do not need 5v for Mas sticks unless you have one with the optical joystick, which does need 5v.

I dont know about the hori stick though.

There's a simple rule of thumb for determining if a stick requires +5v or not. If it has logic, it needs +5v. If there's no logic, no +5v.

Logic of course being anything more complicated than a switch, including but not limited to chips, transistors, and LEDs.

The new Neo stick + pad both have ICs in 'em, so they need +5v. The Hori stick has auto-fire, which implies logic, tho it may work as a normal stick without +5v (haven't tried). Considering it's no extra effort to wire up +5v, and those sticks that don't need it won't suffer if they get it, there's no excuse not to wire it up. At all. Don't even think of being this lazy, it's just dumb. =P
