They'll likely pull a few old characters, probably out of MotW since that's where most of the popular characters are. I wouldn't be surprised if they bent continuity a bit and we saw Rock or the Kims. Then they'll create some new characters no one gives a damn about.

I'd like to see some of the older Fatal Fury characters, Duck King should have been in long ago. But I don't see it happening.

i am hoping for an almost complete roster in neo wave though. a mvc2 type selection screen with like 60 characters on it

Seen how there have been continuously new bosses (not counting dream matches), I wouldn't be surprised if the boss team makes a comeback. Also, seen how Eiji was a secret character in the ps2 versions of kof, I have some hope for this character to make a comeback. Other than that, Kula will be back.

In the hero team's ending, Ron appeared, so there will be Ron and therefore Lin will also appear.
Since there is news about Dragon Sprit, Kensou will appear.
Sigh... ... I'm still a racist... ...
And maybe the characters from the Orochi Clan or what, those in Kyo's Team ending.

I'm in agreement with a few of the above posts. Kula is almost certain to be in 2004 from K' team ending, Ron looks like he may be a mid-boss or something from the Hero team ending, and I hope Rock will finally arrive in KoF as we get a glimpse of him from the Fatal Fury ending.

I would not be entirely surprised to see Kensou, Lin, or even Adelheid would appear. I think these three all have loose ends in the ongoing storyline.

Rock is still too young to be a reasonable entry in KOF and not have it be stupid. Just look at Bao. Do you want to turn Rock into the next Bao?

You're assuming they are following some kind of logic with the character's ages. All the characters in KOF stopped aging in '95, but they kept getting older in their respective series. Besides, it looked like Rock appears in the '03 FF Team ending, and he looks about the same age as he does in MotW (if that is him). I'm thinking they want to do a MotW sequel but have it take place in the present (a couple years early), which is why they brought in Goro and Griffon this year, to reintroduce them to gamers. Nevermind that Rock looked like he was no older than 9 in KOF '01...

The only other Mark of the Wolves characters that would make sense in another KOF would be Kevin and Freeman. Other than that, everyone else is way too young. Hotaru, the Kim kids, and Rock are far too young.

As far as what everyone else said, Lin and Kula and Long (it's not Ron...stupid SNK USA) look to be back.

As far as new characters, if SNK wants to continue the Orochi/Mukai story, I wouldn't be surprised to see a team of Mukai's underlings appear (hopefully that chick with the wire..she looks badass).

I dont know if they will bring Rock in the KOF yet but it would great as i believe he will be the new hero in KOF. He is also a flame fighter. Once he has learnt to control the blue flames(evil side) he would be unbeatable. Also i would like to see Terry Bogard use the moves from the OAV's and Fatal Fury motion picture. I'm dying for Marco/Butt to make his way onto the AOF team. It'll take someone clearing a slot (hi, Yuri!), but I wanna see Robert-Marco-Ryo (maybe receiving an altered moveset to seperate him from Marco and headed towards his transformation into Mr. Karate 2.0). I'd also like to see Geese and Mr. Big return! lol Guess I'm in an AOF mood tonight, heh.

I really hope they do something special for '04 seeing as it's the 10th Anniversary of KoF. I'm hoping for one of two things -

Either a) - A huge Dream Match with a massive roster from the previous KoFs with moves and backgrounds and music that have a bit of a nostalgic feel to them. Sort of a 'history of KoF' type game.

Or b) - An entirely new KoF. 100% new sprites. Maybe even (ducks in case of flames) a completely new roster or, at least, a roster that drops all of the old fighters. As this would be a complete overhaul, I'd accept a dramatic reduction in fighters without a problem. Sure they could bring in new redone older characters in later versions but I'd love the feeling that this is something new.

More likely we'll get something similar to '03. Benimaru will be back on yet another misc team he doesn't seem to fit on and Andy will be back from KoF limbo, replacing Tizoc. Rock will replace Joe. Boss will be Rugal. But at least there will be no sci-fi characters this time.

I'm sure they'll make the same mistake they made with '03. They'll probably throw in Chang again for god knows why, and I wouldn't surprised to see good ol' Choi too. Kula is cheap, forget her. Since it'll be on AW though, they have the room to have at a shitload more than any previous game, and then I wouldn't care what shit characters they threw in as long as the good ones were there (not gonna happen, but they do have room). Hopefully they see it fit to AT LEAST re-include Kensou and Takuma, I hope I wasn't the only one pissed that they were gone. Rock would be perfect, don't know how the FUCK he could be compared to Bao?!? Butt, Dong Hwan, or Hotaru would also make perfect entries from MotW. The hell with Freeman and Kevin, they suck ass. I'm whiny, but in my opinion this would make a perfect game. But I always expect the least from SNKP.

All I want is a fairly huge roster.

Lot's of new characters, and lot's of old school ones from past SNK games. Sort of like what 03 did a little. (Rick, Franco, just some old favs people!)

I'd want Tizoc to stay, as he's one of my all time favorite characters, and the main reason I want to play 03 so badly.

I would not want to see Rock. He's too young. It's not even that long until we could see him in the game timeline wise, so let's just wait.

I'd want May Lee, Lin, Kula, Angel, K9999, Takuma, and Kensou to make their respective re-entries.

I'd love to see some sort of boss team, maybe a new NESTS team, composed of- Igniz, Original Zero, and Krizalid.

I'd also want to see something like 2k1's ratio-like system.

Man, I could go on and on. So I'll end it there.
