The fiance' is looking for rings for us. I wanted something that stands out but is also classy and up to the times. Something just right. I'm leaning towards titanium(they are rather neat and so light) or a multi-metal (yellow and white gold combo).

If you care to submit what you wear, it would be appreciated. Thanks :D

I'm a silver & turqouise man myself, but for my wedding ban I made sure it was "White Gold" as is my wife's along with her engagement ring, as neither of us like Gold. *To me Gold is just too gaudy but that's my opinion... which is why I don't understand a nigga' wanting a mouth full of gold? Maybe someone should ask Paul Mooney about what's up with gold teeth, or why some burr heads (I'm half black so I can say all this shit, so don't be tellin' me I'm racist or shit like that), always have a comb in the back of their head.

I like to wear the flesh (skin) colored ring. Your wife is happy that you have a ring and you're happy because you can still pick up chicks. :p

Can't forget Jimmy Kimmel. :p

A friend of mine told me that after he got married, and that women noticed he wore a ring, women (strangers) opened up to him very quickly.

No risk, no sale.

BTW fellas, i'm siding towards a silver-ish colored ring. I've told my fiance I don't want to wear gold, as I agree with MX99 gold looks gawdy on me. Yuk. However gold on her looks beautiful because to me, it matches very well with her hair color, which is a naturally highlighted/multi-tonal dirty blonde color, and my hair color is uh... DK brown/Black. She would rather our bands match, and actually suggested we get matching multi-diamond rings but I don't want to wear anything like that. She's a little disappointed that I'd prefer plain silvery-color (again I say silvery b/c it could be white gold, platinum, or titanium).

Thanks for the input guys, and keep it coming :)

I have a titanium ring from Kay Jewlers. It is pretty pimp. I hate yellow gold too. It is not as shiny as other "silver-ish" metals either. Quite comfortable. Not too expensive either.

That's great to hear actually b/c since I bought her engagement ring at Kay, I was gonna return there to get the wedding rings as well, and score on the interest free payments. i saw what they had for titanium rings and liked them. BTW, i'm not a metalurgy master but am aware of various metals' ability to change temperatures. That being, Aluminum changes very fast while iron changes very slowly. In your experience with your titanium ring, does its temp change quickly or slowly (ie coming in from the cold), etc? I'm thinkin that since its a lightweight metal but its molecular bond is so strong i'm not sure. I'll have to look it up in my chemistry book later.

Umm... I have no idea. When I lived in MI and came in from the cold it did not like "stay" cold. Sometimes I forget that it is on me being light weight and the temp changes fast. I also get asked what kind of metal it is all the time, so I think other people like it.

I also have had it save my finger (I had a sledge hammer fall over on it while working in a shop). I would not recomend that you test this theory, but it hold value to me :)

Anyways I really like it and it is ubercomfortable. IIRC it only comes in standard sizes (no 1/4 sizes), so make sure that they can get it in your size before you jump in.

Everybody knows that once you get married, there ceases to be any advantage in wearing a wedding ring... Despite that, congrats and best of luck to you and your fiance. Just pick something you're comfortable with...

Platinum.

I wear a lot of jewlery and rings, and they are all silver-ish, I don't like them golden.

I am not married, but I already know I will go for platinum.

Well... that's inspiring! Cool little story. And knowing me, I'd probably experiment that anyway.

Seems Titanium and Platinum are 2 very cool metals to work with. One is the strongest metal, and is fit to be used inside the body for medical splints, pins, etc and is lightweight. The rings made of this metal aren't the shiniest of their kind but sometimes lack of luster can be better too.

The other metal, Platinum has the highest resistivity to corrosion, and unlike Titanium, is one of the heavest metals(if not the heaviest) not toxic to living beings. Its similar properties to Gold allow it to mold well to gold itself and create some beautiful jewelry.

The most important ring Izzz be wearin is teh koc ring, and its a steel ring with a silk coat. Its teh misses favorite ring too. Im so lonely...

Seriously I was engaged for a spell in my life, long enough to make a ring. White gold with two trees intertwining roots and in the shared branches were both our birth stones and and diamond between.

@ BlackSpy & 5thlion5thlion:

Why do u guys choose not to wear one at all?

And how does the wife/wife to be feel about that?

I read that in pre-WWII days, men typically didn't wear wedding rings. It was during and after that their wives implored that they wear them while fighting abroad to help them remind themselves of the wife they left back home. Kinda makes sense... in a human way.

It's just not really part of the culture here, my dad doesn't wear one, nor does hers. Some folk wear one, some don't. I just don't like the idea of wearing one and my girl is perfectly happy with that. I think she'd be happy if I wanted to wear one too, but she thinks it's my decision and doesn't really care either way.

Buying a wedding ring is definitely part of the culture here. To not wear a wedding ring would be an insult to your spouse. That being said, I still think rings are a waste of money. Instead of spending lots of money on two small pieces of jewelry, we could be saving the money for our future...

...so I asked my wife to get me the cheapest ring we could find which turned out to be white gold.

Silver would obviously be cheaper, but I don't even think they make silver wedding rings in Japan.

@tsukaesugi-

Interesting... so how cheap do even white gold rings go? Here in the states I've seen them as low as $19.99.

@BlackSpy-

My grandfather came here from Scotland when he was 4 years old. Anyway I know he wore a band anyway.

Wow, that's really really really cheap... are those real white gold?!

Over here, the cheapest white gold wedding bands still go for $400 or so.

Regular gold with white gold inlay. It's a bit squared off so it's not too wide to bother my fingers. Has a diamond offset to one side.

I'm not married but I think a Platinum ring would be cool. Titanium might be cool since it is so light but I would have to see how the color looks.

You will see for yourself but anyway titanium can have a "brushed" look, a matte look, or a semi-shiny look to it. It isn't as shiny as white gold/platinum.
