Red Dead Revolver...

The narrative feels like it was pulled straight from 1960s spaghetti westerns such as High Plains Drifter and Fistful of Dollars, and it just so happens the lead character, Red, has a distinct resemblance to Clint Eastwood. The back story sets up the game's premise right purdy. Red was once a young kid living with his family on the western frontier. In a surprise turn of events, his family strikes gold, making them rich. But it being the big bad west and all, news of his family's overnight fortune reaches the ears of the rogue Mexican general, Javier Diego, a crooked money-grubbing bastard with few ethics or morals. It takes little time before Diego sends his bandits on a mission to slaughter Red's family and to acquire their gold.

according to the article, they fixed it up since it was last shown

hey, anything to get this game out there

I'm a spaghetti western fan, and a videogame based on the genre has to be the best thing to happen in a while (the only thing better would be the actual release of the game, and then it living up to the hype)

Actually it was being produced by Capcom (i.e. we provide the money and tell you what's wrong with it and how to improve on it) and being developed by Angel Studios. During this period, Capcom of Japan continuously sent the game back into the pressure cooker, probably halting development.

Then Angel Studios was bought by Rockstar who decided to finish it.

I don't think Capcom would have let Angel finish due to their disappointment during development.

Glad to see that old CAPCOM game being released soon. As a thowback to the "Storm Riding" Cowboy days, where a man could be Lord of The Plains, riding rough shod and tough as a mother fucker, and having seen DJANGO, KEOMA, DEATH RIDES A HORSE too many times, well... all I can say about Red Dead Revolver is:

 :buttrock:

if this is supposed to be a nod to Sergio Leone's films they better not mess it up or I'll be angry as hell...

Rockstar Games is doing this? guess that means you can pick up a prostitute at the saloon and pistolwhip her behind the brothel...
:D

Edit for my retarded spelling...

Question is, are they still gonna give Capcom the credit by putting their name on the back of the box in their copyright info? They should, after all, Rockstar did let Capcom release Grand Theft Auto III in Japan.

there is no question of "let" in the equation

this is Capcom's unwanted bastard child, if anything Capcom would rather not have their name associated with the project

I have been waiting for this game for so long... I'm almost tempted to say I had more fun watching the game's trailer than playing any of the new games released for PS2 over the last couple years. Who directed High Plains Drifter? I never thought of that as a spaghetti western.
