I was wandering if any of you have starting losing interest in your other video games?

I have about 250 games in all. I have been thinking of selling most of my collection except for about 50 games I really want to keep ahold of, and just getting alot of mvs games and jamma boards. When I sit in my room and look at my games, I see the same 30 or so games I always end up playing. I have about 30 rpg's i have never even played through.

A couple of reasons I think I want to do this is..

1. I am about to move and everyone wont want to watch me play all these rpg's

2. When I do move and start school I wont have time for anything but arcade games.

3. There quick and fun. plus they have excellent replay value.

So what would you do?

Sell off most of my collection except for a select few (mega mans, ghouls n ghosts series, castlevania's, shining force's, and a few select other games. Or just hord them all and never find the time to play them all?

I figure after college i can buy back all the games I sold if i really want them. since i will actually have a decent job.

i could really use some help making the right decision!

I totally hear you. I now own 17 video game systems/handhleds and about the same number of games. with in the past five months my purchasing ration has been:

neo geo : anything else
5:1

I used to play my dreamcast and super nintendo like crazy, but now my neo is getting all the love. Before I got my MVS Cab I was trying to get the ports of neo games but now that I have the real deal it seems like my passion is shifting from videogames in general to neo geo only.
and ditto on the unplayed games. I found Xenogears at a movie renting place for $10 and still haven't put a dent in it, along with countless dreamcast, saturn, and nintendo games.
I'm in colledge right now and working as a guitar teacher, so my time is spent, but I plan to keep everything and continue to build. I would hate to see my legacy go. In a way my collection has started to define me(for better or worse).
eventhough I don't have time to play them now, I hope too this summer, and after school. My honest opinon is to hang on to everything, you never know how hard i will be to get some of those back untill you try. put em in storage or in your folks addic or something. and in a few months/years when you unpack it all you might have a new appreciation for them all.

keep it.

Not me. I have gaming phases. I switch from Neo Geo phase to next gen phase, to misc phase about every month. Depending on what I am in the mood for. Lately I have been on a Sega kick. I've been picking up Sega CD, Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast games left and right.

I also go through phases. Right now I am pretty much playing Neo-Geo stuff, but I am hanging on to my other systems, with the exception of my modded Playstation, which I pretty much only bought for Metal Slug and Metal Slug X, and my SNES, which I never play at all. I hardly ever play my PS2 or XBox, but sooner or later something new will come along for them that will get me playing them again.

I say sell everything to get more Neo Geo stuff. If you have a dreamcast keep that. I want to get a dreamcast, and I regret getting rid of the one I had a few years ago. But all the other systems other than Neo Geo are pretty meh.

wow, been there done that. I say sell it all and just keep your neo stuff.
My opinion of course.
I got tired of next gen stuff. You actually need time...sit down and get into games. I mean most games you have to unlock things to get the most out of them. This used to be fun when I was younger, but these days I appreciate the plug in and play of neo geo/arcade style games more than ever. My bro and I can just stick any neo game in and have a blast for half an hour or more. No loading times, nothing, just mad fun!! And the neo is a beauty. Its the original and should be with any gamer. I just can't let it go :loco:

I HAD lost interest in the next gen gaming consoles and had gone straight up MVS and PCB/Super Gun "ARCADE" Gaming... but with the following out or comming out, looks like I'll be rebuying some systems again.

MGS Twin Snakes
MGS III: Snake Eater
Shell Shock: NAM '67
KILL ZONE
Red Dead Revolver

Don't own any arcade games but as a arcade technician and operator, my heart's always with the arcade games and JAMMA boards :D

i think we all go through are little phases. i just blew about $1500 on turbo grafx stuff in the last 2 months. i have done the same with the cart system many times, but i always end up selling home carts to go the mvs route. i always end up getting a cart system again though.

i have realized through all my little phases i always play my neo at least a few times a week though. i cant say that for any other system except for the turbo and nes.

i just am really not that interested in next gen games. the only next gen games i end up buying are sequels like maximo or wind waker. i sit around and wait for old game to be reborn. i could really use a kid icarus game.

i guess i'm just getting old school on myself.

I was on a Dreamcast kick for awhile, but I've been pretty chill lately with games in general. The last one was Ninja Gaiden, which is pretty cool, but kinda meh.

Nothing beats the Neo, and I think I could probably do fine without all the other systems cluttering my room, but I doubt I'll be able to gather up the courage to sell 'em. Too much time investing collecting the damned things.

I just play my DC with the NES emus and my Neo and my SNES and NGPC.

Im just bored right now.

I lost interest when videogames became movies. To me a game is something you can pick up and play, not some fucking sweeping epic with a "cast of thousands" that requires you to buy a 200 page book to play. I just can't feel this generation of "games". The only new system I play is the GBA (and only for games like Double Dragon, Dodgeball, River City, etc.) Guess I'm showing my age.

I get in my phases too, im on my Neo Geo one right now, i was on Dreamcast before. But i think im gonna be stuck with Neo Geo for a long time. I also have many other hobbies, one including DVD's and Comics. Those can get pricey.

A very little amount of console games actually get my attention, I tend to prefer arcade games, which I play the most.
