I sold my old DVD player so I could use my Xbox instead. I have a problem with it, there is this awful buzzing sound when playing dvds. This is not present when playing games, the sound is so low on DVDs that I have to turn up the volume almost to the maximum, this may explain the buzzing but I don't understand the problem.

I am using a RGB cable on a regular stereo tv, and I have all the effects (surround etc..) turned of on the Xbox menu.

Any idea what the cause of this problem is?

Thanks.

if you are getting buzzing sounds that get louder the more you turn it up it could be interfearance. I had this problem with my PS2, while watching the DVD I un-hooked the TV aerial and the buzzing wasn't as bad but it was still there.

failing that try hooking it up to a home hi-fi and se what happens there (better speakers)
