SNES version of Super Driftout any good?

I was browsing a store today and noticed a Super Famicom rally style game. Low and behold it was Super Driftout released by non other than Visco! I didn`t even know this game was made for the SNES. Does anyone know how it fares to the Neo version? Is it a totally diferent game then Neo Driftout? Did this game make a stateside release?

Hmmmm.....after some research on the internet I was able to piece some info together about the game. Seems that Driftout has had 4 installments to date. `91, `94 were arcade releases then Super Driftout for the SFC then Neo Driftout on the Neo. The SFC version being an overhead racer in the lines of Thrash Rally I suppose. I have yet to see any pics of the game in action. Maybe I will ride back into town to see what this game is all about. Well then I have to wait a couple weeks to actually play it.
