Im pondering getting a 1slot sometime in the near future, but i want it to be able to play all the mvs titles. A guy i know here in sweden said that the compatibility relies on the bios used and not the 1slot version itself. can anyone confirm this?

also i would like to know which version i should look for. i want to be able to change bios, and be able to have it consolised in a matter that will still alow it to be used in a cab if i wish to do so.

basically, if i want a 1slot mvs, (with the uni bios) that works with all games, what should i look for?

if this has already been adressed in other threads, please point them out to me and i will read them.

thank you!

From what I understand/my experiance...

COMPATABILITY FROM BEST TO WORST:
MV1-C*
MV1-FZ
Mv1-F/A
MV-1
Mv1-B*

*NOT EASILY UPGRADED TO UNIBIOS

Hello,

Why don't you just get a 2 slot board instead? It has a built in memory card reader, supports all the current games & it is easy to install a Uni-Bios chip. It also has Stereo output which is much better than mono. You can get one for around $175 if you look around. I hope this helps? Laters...

Consider it confirmed. Those two have soldered on BIOS chips

ehm sorry but, what exactly is confirmed? ;)

that the compatibility issues are only dependant on the bios, or that the ones in the list NOT marked with an * are easily upgradeable to unibios?

im a noob when it comes to all this, so please forget the naive questions, but if ive got it right, i cant expect to play ALL games with the unibios installed on a 1FZ version?

the ones with the* have solderd, smaller bioses. To put a unibios in there, you will have to de-solder or cut out the old bios, then run a wire from each leg of the bios to the same solder point where the old bios was.

the ones without*'s are much easier to upgrade. The bios chip is in a socket rather than soldered to the board. It requires no cuting, soldering or headaches. Take a small flathead screwdriver, slide it under the old bios and lift it out gently. Take the unibios, make sure it's facing the right way, push it in.

im not sure if im unclear or something, but ill try to be very clea now.

i want a 1-slot mvs, i told this to a friend and asked him wich model i should choose. i know that some 1-slot machines cant play all games and my friend said that that issue has nothing to do with the 1-slot machine itself, only what bios it has.

what i need to know is if this is true? can i change the bios in for example the 1FZ version, and then be able to play all games using a new bios on it, or will i have to use a 1C modell in order to play all games, but have a much harder time exchanging the bios for universe bios?

IN Neo Geo land,

No system plays ALL of the games ALL of the time...
but incompatability issues are not as bad as people say.

All unmodded boards (except the Mv-1B) have nearly the same Bios.

for best compatability, get a MV-1C or MV1-FZ.
