Matrimelee???

I am considering buying matrimelee (AES)....

Can anybody who owns or has played it help me out, it is worth getting???

What about the gameplay, graphics etc???

Your opinions please....

i've just bought Matrimelee and Sengoku 3 during the three day special at the Neostore. (Shawn and Lizzy rulz! Thanx again for the posters and kindness!)

I've played Matrimelee all night long, here's my two cents:

1/ Graphics- Amazing. Even if there are not enough stages (the stadium is re-used too often), each character have a specific background, with animations. Reminds me the good old time of SamSho ...


2/ Music- INCREDIBLE!! Each background have a specific music, with lyrics! Many catchy songs, with very funny and different styles. Great job Noise Factory!


3/ Gamesystem,Gameplay- Very Cool. Let's compare it to waku waku 7 more than KOF. This game is really combo friendly, especially for people that are not good at KOF, like me
Nice features such as referee throw or taunt mini games... Definitely the best "non serious" fighting game.


4/ Overall- With numerous characters, a good gamepaly, awesome music. Plus, a cute design for female characters

BUY THIS GAME!

Get Matrimelee, if you want to have fun, laugh your ass off, listen to some of the best music in game, and do nice combos.

Don't get Matrimelee if you are a serious person, and like only serious games(KoF's and Samurai's).

Matrimelee is a beautiful game. The music is amazing and the characters are unforgetable. Unfortunately I am kind of in a money problem and I am selling my matrimelee I recently bought at the neo store. PM me if you're interested in picking it up.

I also bought Matrimelee during the WE Special and the only thing I've to say is that it's my best 2D fighter with MotW for all the reasons Vince2K explained.
Moreover you really like RotD so go ahead.

It is the most original 2D fighter on the Neo. Furthermore, it is the best newer title to come out in the last few years!

Hmmm, I'm going to risk flames here and say that I didn't rate it as highly as most.

A bunch of us at the recent UK meet put it on and I think most of us were not impressed.

The funny specials like Poochy's bone digging attack and his funny punches had us laughing but it simply didn't grip me.

The graphics are ok, not better than ROTD's though. In fact I feel that ROTD is a better game by some margin.

I admit I didn't play it for hours on end but after 1/2 hour or so it came out of the AES and SVC Chaos went back in.

matrimelee is just a fun game that doesn't take the fighting game genre to seriously.....the cool graphics,stunningly strange music,perculiar storyline and pretty easy combo system...it's one of the finest neo geo games in years.

I have a US AES system, I hear that the music is serieusly messed up then. That's one of the reasons I still have doubt.

I am divided between matrimelee and SVC chaos and maybe SSV, I think those are also awesome games...

though i'm a big fan of sam shodown it say go with matrimelee...due to you might as well wait and see on what the new special sam shodown is gonna be like.svc chaos is pretty cool too but i think matrimelee is a lot more of a fun game that you can keep going back to again and again.

Enlightenment comes with buying a Debug BIOS.

Matrimelee is great.

While at first glance, the game seems kind of odd, the proof is in the gameplay.

The game has a very friendly gameplay system with rolling, double jumps, and an intiuitive combo system.

Also, the music is some of the best to grace the Neo.

I predict that it will be one of those games that hangs around at the Neostore forever, but when it does sell out, they'll become impossible to find.
