aight.

almost done buildin neo1087's supergun, but i have a quick question.

while this is going to be used primarily for neo (his mv-1) i have a power related question.

basically, how many of the power wires need to be hooked up to the power supply? all 12?(4 gnds, 4 +5's, 2 -5s, 2 +12's) or just one of each?

im just currently stuck at this right now, seeing as i need to purchase some sort of connector, and need to know if i can maybe cut it down to only so many.

and im connecting the -5 and +12 (im using a pc power supply) since i dont feel like doing audio hax and he may use this with other games down the road.

For +12V and -5V two wires are absolutely NOT necessary as the current is very low (less than 2A). If it's meant to be a general purpose supergun, I'd use a DIN-8 plug with 3 grounds, 3 +5V, 1 +12V and 1 -5V. Wire gauge: 18AWG.

95% of Jamma boards do not use -5v

A MV-1 can be run on either 12v or 5v (with only headphone sound).

Just you can connect 12v. THe PCB voltage regulator will drop it to +5v. Solder the +5v off the regulator to the jamma connector.

Or you can run +5v to the jamma connector and to the +5v pin of the voltage regulator. You will not get sound tho.

Actual power consumption of a MV-1 + a Jrok is less than 1.5 amps, assuming you don't wire in a speaker.
