I got the same shit from them at KINKOS, so either find someone with or buy yourself a good EPSON RX-500 printer and the print out quality is unbelievable! *Either that or find a mom & pop owned Copier place, and just let them know about your hobby and that you do indeed own the game, and that it's only that one copy/print out you need. Generally your non-corporate places won't care too much as long as it's one or two print outs/color Xeroxes, otherwise they think you're implicating them in something illegal. So I'd say just avoid corporate ran printer places... which is another reason to FIGHT THE POWER!

{Raises Fist to the sky!}

"Fuck the corporations, every one of them."

GOOD LUCK MAN!

Well thats odd..i haven't had any trouble w/ the Kinko's in Denver. Granted i've had the inserts in PDFs and ready to print when i got there. The only thing i might suggest is that you format them in PDF's and use one of there computers to print them, in which case they can't hassle you as much. Granted, if your Kinkos is like the one in Downtown Denver, you'll have an online setup that accepts your Credit Card and charges you 20 cents a minute(a small rape) to use there Adobe photoshop to upload the image from your disc and send it to there main printer (about 3 to 5 mins; raped again). I've gotten to the point now where i just change them to PDFs (if there not already in that format when you Download them) and just copy them all to a disc. Then i throw a Post-it on there that says I want 1 OF EACH, LANSCAPED, IN COLOR, NON GLOSSY, ON TABLOID PAPER. And tell them you'll come back in 24hrs. They shouldn't cost more than $2.10 this way. I do this in the evening generally also....when there not quite as busy and them seem to be friendly enough. I don't know if these tips will help but they've served me well enough. Good luck w/ you insert collection though.

that's exactly what i did; the files were in PDF and everything. but the guy opened the files to look at them and then said he can't do it cuz they're copyrighted and it'd be pirating. i told him it was for my personal collection and that i wasn't going to distribute them or anything, and he said it didn't matter what the purpose was.

bring them in ready to print and do it yourself on the computers they provide. just ask one of the employees which printer & tray you need to select and go about your business. i've done both (hand them off and do it myself), so if they won't print them spend the extra dollar or two for the computer time.

I've never had that trouble, I do however have a problem with the fact that every employee there is a complete fucking idiot. Dave Chapelle's Popcopy sketch is like a mirror image of the one near me, except it's all soccer moms.

I noticed that you stated he said SOME of the images were copyrighted..Probably not mine because I make sure I remove all the text jibberish. When you do that, they can't say sh8t because there is no messages for the droids to read.
None of that stuiff is direct scans..you should have told him,you created them youjrself.and make sure the creator did'nt leave the text on his assembled stuff.

I had inserts printed out at kinko's multiple times. Never had a problem. Although once, some lady came in right after me and wanted to make copies out of a childrens book, they said no. I was laughing as my Neo Geo inserts were being printed out.

I get em printed on glossy paper, costs me around $3.00 each.

Damn...
I didn't even think about that.

So when you do it on their computers, do you buy the paper and stuff first then go pay for your time when you're finished printing?

Yeah thats a bummer that they would refuse to copy those inserts for you. Some people take their jobs a bit too serious.
A little off topic but are the Shockboxes available to order again?
Last time I checked they were out. Maybe I was going to the wrong place.

Well It took me some time for copyright laws to click in my mind....

IT is Illegal and punishable for them to copy copywritten material.

HOWEVER, If you sit at thier PC and print it yourself, then they are not liable.

It's like a photcopier at a LIbrary. When you copy something using thier PAY coppiers, you are responsible for copyright clearance. IF they were to make the copy themselves, they would be responsible for clearing copyriight.

I've tried to copy copywrited stuff at Kinkos before... they told me they won't do it for me but I can still copy it MYSELF, and at MY risk. And I did too.

I just print my own on photo paper.

Front and back each get their own sheet. and I put about 3 spines on another.

So I make SHockboxes in Groups of 3.

I have an HP Photosmart 7550 (yeah the ink rapers)
