OK, I'm currently discussing the details with supergoose79 to see if I finally send my AW to him to have it consolized.
This is the complete board:
This is it after removing the 3 optional carts:
This is without the red plastic casing:
And finally this is removing the metal cover:
Well, I'm no expert on this, but it looks like there's quite room behind the Atomiswave logo, as there's only that small pcb with its wires. Also to the left of the cart slot. It should be easy to wire two RCA jacks to the stereo plug (on the right of the white plastic pin) and connect them to the right of the case. I guess that the video output and even the controller ports could be installed there. This would leave only the power plug left.
This is more or less how I would like it to be. This info is for supergoose, but I prefer to discuss it here openly (Falk, if you don't we can just use PM or e-mail, but I think the PM system sucks)
-Controls:
2 subd-15 ports, with the following pin-out:
1 Common (GND)
2 Button 5
3 Coin
4 Button 4
5 Button 2
6 Right
7 Down
8 +5v (optional, I don't really need it)
9 Button 4 (optional)
10 NC
11 Start
12 Button 3
13 Button 1
14 Left
15 Up
I'm not sure if it would be better to have a coin button in the board itself, as the board doesn't have freeplay... And then maybe I'd put button 5 on pin 3 instead... I'll have to check how are my modded controllers actually wired about that.
-Video
A connector where a scart cable should be attached. I would really want to have +5V wired to pin 16 (can't remember the number, was it 8 instead?) through a 100 ohm resistor, as appearently some TVs (not mine) do not switch to RGB without it. Remember this is what happened to Fogueman with the VHSgun. That's why I'm afraid I won't be able to use that scart cable, because it looks like to me scart pin 16 is not connected anywhere in the subd-9 port in the other end.
However, I do have another scart cable which I use in my other supergun, that follows the same pin-out as the Neo Geo (I could use it with my Neo Geo CD), found here http://webgb.hp.infoseek.co.jp/gtech/connect.html, and I just checked and it actually has pin 6 connected to scart 16:
1:Red
2:Video
3:Audio
4:Blue
5:-NC-
6:+5V
7:Gnd
8:Green
I think is called DIN8p. So if you could mount a female connector like that it for video it would be nice.
-Sound:
As I said 2 female RCA jacks for stereo sound from that special connector. I don't really think I would need the mono sound from the JAMMA harness already having that. If possible, I would like to have that stereo sound wired to the scart connection as well.
-Power:
If possible I would prefer not to use a PC psu, so having a plug to be used with a jameco sc200 would be nice. I guess you could include an adaptor for using a PC psu anyway just in case. It's a pity you don't have a spare sc200, I guess I would order one, 20$ is pretty cheap and I shouldn't worry for customs, I hope shipping isn't that bad.
-Other:
The 2 dip switches are a pain to access, I need to use a screwdriver, I can't use my fingers (unless I had a long nail
), so having some bigger switches more accessible somewhere else would be nice, if that's possible.
--------------------
This is all I can think about this right now. Thanks for all
