Sengoku 3

A few days ago, I decided to plunk down some coin for Sengoku 3 seeing how the price for a new cart was damn cheap and the numbers in stock are begining to dwindle. It arrived yesterday and after a few hours of hackin and slashin all I have to sayt is damn, this game is fun. Sure it looks pretty and has some nice tunes, but its all about the combo meter......trying to rack up bigger and badder hit totals keeps me coming back for more. Sure it suffers from the usual traps of games in this genre (repetitive enemies), but its a fun ride. Just me sounding off with some Sengoku 3 love

I was actually contemplating on getting this. But, the shipping fees more than put me off since I live in Singapore (Asia)
I plan to get this together with KOF 2K3 so as to save some $ on shipping.
Glad to say that Sengoku 3 will be added to my collection soon enough.

Totally agree with you jaydub, the combo meter is what sets this game above the others in terms of replay value. Make sure you set it to level 8 so the enemies take more hits ..ie bigger combos

Thanks for the tip I like how you can use attack tables, pots, etc to keep the combo going. The highest I've pulled off so far on default setting is 52...going to bump the difficulty up to 8 and see if I can tack on some more

I've been thinking of Picking up Sengoku 3 for awhile...

I would really like this game too, but the Neo Store only has the English version, but I want a Japanese one (all my other games are JAP).

The price difference is also about $200...

As soon as I saw it was available at such a cheap price, I oredred it but now it bothers me for two reasons:

1- the fucking rigid gameplay. The characters are very well animated and colorful but the way they move in both axes X and Y is too slow and I can't bare it. It results a very unreactive gameplay favorable for the life loss. But the characters are vrey great!

2- The background are soooo empty! They look like as if they were directly taken from SNES! It's very awful actually.

And for all these reasons I don't play it anymore. But it's nice for the ones who are suffering the lack of that kind of game on Neo Geo. The combo meter is a good idea though.
I personnally play a lot more to the classics that are very more effective: Final Fight 3 SNES and Street of Rage 2 MD.

Despite its flaws, Sengoku 3 is a fantastic game and one that deserves to be in any 2D loving Neo fans collection.
What's not to love? Beautiful 2D graphics, great control, awesome music, and some insanely fun/addictive combo heavy gameplay!

It's one of those games that just keeps you coming back for more and a nice change of pace during KOF marathon sessions!

While this SENGOKU entry no doubt should have been called Ninja Combat II, it is indeed a blast to play three or four times... then it becomes stale and old. My main reasons for liking the game still are the hot ass Kunoichi girl, and the mega breasted Ho with the fans. Other than that, there's not a whole lot there after you've beaten it. And that damned Phoenix bird on the Amazon stage pisses me off to no end.

I can never convince myself to buy this game because I say to myself, "damn, i'm half-way to getting enough money for the newer aes releases so I might as well hold off on getting this game"
