Last night I was playing KOF '01 on my AES and everything was fine. This morning I went to play Metal Slug 5 and there was no sound. I had to re-insert the cart 3 times before I could get any sound. Is my system finally on it's way out? Any info is appreciated. BTW, I have the latest version of the debug chip installed, if that makes a difference.

$50 shipped.

Just kidding (kind of). I have no idea why that would just die like that. I know it's not the answer you're looking for. Have you done any mods to it yourself or anybody else?

I did the mod myself, but I've had problems w/my system before the mod. When I switch carts I get garbled graphics or a blue screen that has some menu on it. I always have to re-insert the cart 2 or 3 times. I'm thinking that I might have to get the slot replaced, if that's even possible.

I would try cleaning the system slot. I don't think that the slot can be replace easily, if I'm not mistaken it is soldered to the motherboard.
