Capcom...

But SNK has 'borrowed' just as much from Capcom (cough cough Ryo Sakizaki) as Capcom has from SNK.

The first KOF I bought was 96 for the Saturn. I had never heard of Ryo Sakizaki before but when I picked him I thought 'Hmm, he looks like an Orange Ryu'.

So I tried a hadouken and it worked. Then I tried a shoryuken and it worked. Then I tried a tatsumakisenpuuken and it worked...

Capcom. You can't compare the "relationship" between SNK and Capcom to anything more recent. Nothing else is nearly as extensive.

Capcom, CvS2 as evidence. Graphically and gameplay-wise.

Well, technically SNKP mimics SNK the best - but I don't really think that should be a choice. That's kind of like saying that something mimics itself the best.

Anyway, I chose Capcom - I think the rivalries between the two companies as fighting games' top dog really helped them to grow past whatever goals they may have achieved on their own.

There's some SNK feel on Data East titles.

Shame that they are gone to.

I know this may sound stupid, but I'd say Namco "only" because what they did with weapon based fighter genre. Soul Edge and Soul Calibur 1&2 are some of the best weapon based games next to "SNK's" Samurai Spirits Series.

SNKP does! Only CvS2 has the SNK feel, but they have not put out something to rival KOF2k2, Matrimelee, SS0/5, and Metal Slug 5. SNKP mos def :buttrock:
