Good early Neo games?

What early Neo Geo games are still good compared to todays offering? With early games I would mean something like the games before Samurai Shodown 2.

Well, the early games are truly the reason why I even own a Neo in the first place! When the Neo first came out in 1990, I was just a child in elementary school with no hope of being able to afford one...but those early games are what truly made the Neo such a compelling system. NOTHING on the Genesis and SNES could compare to the Neo games!

Anyway, here are some of my favorites which you can usually find easily and cheaply. Seek these titles out on MVS or AES:

*Magician Lord

*Nam 1975
*Top Players Golf
*Cyberlip (You're not a true gamer until you beat this on 1 credit!)
*Super Spy
*Blue's Journey
*Ninja Combat (repetitive, but still great mindless fun!)
*Baseball Stars Professional (not as good as BBS2, but still holds up pretty well)
*Sengoku 1
*Crossed Swords
*Ghost Pilots (tough 2D shooter)
*Fatal Fury 1
*King of the Monsters 1
*League Bowling
*World Heroes
*Riding Hero

These were just a list of some of my favorites. I really enjoy the early Neo games almost as much as the newer fighters. The variety was greater back then and surprisingly, the older titles still hold up pretty well even today!

Im not able to agree with you on that one buddy. I played it a couple times. I personally thought it was horrible.

This is such a cool idea for a thread :) Im gonna have to look into to some of these games that I don't have. buttrock wink

Almost every old Neo title is great... check my MVS collection in my sig, look at all those old games!!! I love them all, if you are a fan of classic arcade games, you can do no wrong with any of the older titles. Personal favs:

8 man
Viewpoint
ASOII
King of the Monsters
Nam 75
Crossed Swords (aquired taste, but I love it)
Sengoku 2
Art of Fighting 2
Ghost Pilots
... tons more :)

List goes on and on and on :)

To me Sengoku 1 and 2 were horrible. Part3 which is newer made up for it ^^ii

I enjoyed Baseball Stars 2, 3 Count Bout, and Alpha Mission 2 the best.

I'd reccommend AoF 2. Horrible 1P game, but if you play 2P, it has a certain earthy quality to it. Played it 2P alongside FFS, SS3 and KoF98 last night, and surprisingly, it was really enjoyable.

Oh, and Magician Lord is cool.

Am I blind or has no one mentioned Samurai Showdown? I also enjoy ninja commandos (nostalgia mainly) and Roboarmy. Oh yeah, and fight fever...

I love Super Spy so much.........
It's repetitive and pseudo 3D is horrible also...

But it's my favorite drool_2

Ninja Combat is another fun game too.... drool_2
