Might be a touchy subject about roms.

Well I just purchased UMK3 and it has version 1.1 What I would like to do is upgrade them to 1.2 (Latest). I assume since the roms that MAME use is from the original boards, it should just be a matter of reprogramming a couple of EPROMs with the correct bins. Right?

Hopefully I haven't crossed any lines since I happen to own the board. But one never knows.

Thanks!

That works just fine. I've had my KI2 board upgraded from 1.3 to 1.4 using the MAME ROM and it works great.

There is nothing wrong with using rom dumps for legit purposes.
And disscusing such use is welcome around here. Emulation is not, but thats another issue.

I'm not a big fan of emulation, but mame roms have helped me fix my arcade games on more than one occasion. I'm glad that they are available for those of us who actually need them :)
