I just got a Mortal Kombat 2 PCB last night I hooked it up and it works but only the high punch, block and high kick buttons work. I have the Operators Manual for it but it looks like the other buttons come from the Jamma harness. What am I missing?

5 action and 1 for the start. I see that but they don't state were the others come from. It shows the extra pin out for player 3 & 4 but not the ones for P1 and P2, I see the extra plug for the low P and low k but it looks like they come off the jamma harness.

I will see if I can scan or thake a pic of schematics.

Was the MK2 cab set up for player 3 and 4 or was it just a 2 player game? Looking at the schematics the wire colors from p5 (15 pin conector) which is 3 switch A & B are the same colors for player 1 low p1 low k. If MK2 cab was just a 2 player cab ( can't remember) then I think those would be the wires.

I also have a question, I have a mk2 pcb. I just viewed the pic ttoddddy showed, and how come it has a little board on top of the main board. My board only has the main board and the sound board, what revision is that?

Im not able to take a piccy of my MK2 board set at the moment due to the virus I have, but its exactly the same as the one in the link and all others Ive seen. There may be different versions but I think the hardware is the same unless its a bootleg version.

The board on top of the main cpu board is the Memory Expansion Board.

The harness with the red wires is the sound board wires and the harness next to it is the player 3? So whear is the extra button harness? I am looking at the manual but must be blind. I look at this stuff all day long (my job) and still don't see it. WTF

Just like lil-c said, that is the memory expansion board. Your board is the newer version that uses the larger size ROM's. The memory expansion board are known to be fussy sometimes if they are not tightly plugged onto the main board. I've got this version and a few times the game gives me a rom error at the rom check, and I've had to make sure the memory expansion board is firmly seated.

I also heard that mk2 wont work with some television sets, I have a magnavox television, will it work with mine? If not, where can I get a monitor that works with MK2, or any MK game board?

Using the AD encoder the colour phases look wrong (in PAL or NTSC), like the rgbs are mixed up. I think someone mentioned similar results with a jrok ?
