How come in the Neo Store the PCB version of a MVS game is more expensive?

Shouldn't it be cheaper? I mean don't the PCB versions only offer mono sound?

ANy insight into this?

I figure its because the ops are the ones that will be buying PCBs and if they don't have an MVS board already the PCB is cheaper overall. And you think ops care about sound? ;)

The PCB version actually costs more to manufacture because it has all the electronic parts found on an MVS motherboard (CPUs, RAM, bios, etc.), plus all the ROM chips of the cart version.

Of course, the PCB is a MVS mobo + cart all on the same board.

Based on the apparent demand I would figure the MVS cart to be more expensive, however, the JAMMA boards are more expensive to manufacture.

To personal users the MVS carts are definately more desirable but to an arcade op, the board is probably more desirable. The term desirable used in conjunction with a Neo game is relative ;)

I was wondering on this question myself, but in the end the PCBs will probably be more expensive anyhow. I mean have you seen the asking price for older games that are a bitch to find? Super Contra PCB starts at $150.00 but I've seen it go for as much as an AES cart in the Three Hundred range. It just really depends on certain variables I guess.

Thats part of my question, even older games the PCBs sell for more than the Cart... seems to me that the older games are really only bought up by people like us. And I'm not sure about anyone else but I prefer the carts cause they are much easier to change the game in then unhooking that damn jamma harness (you can tell those things weren't made for daily changing).

Are there versions of PCBs with extra features not found on Cart versions?

There should be no differences in the game between mvs cart or jamma pcb.
