I'm a low skill fighting game doofus, I like my combos free and easy and dislike having to think too much. Also, I mostly play fighting games versus another person.

I also quite fancy Samurai Shodown 5 and Matrilmelee. Any suggestions which I'd be better off with?

Matrimelee. Its really easy to get into but it also has some depth to it. You'll have fun with it no matter what skill level you're at.

D.O.A., all of 'em, and any other blasted games that involves juggles. The ONLY real game that involves skill to me is Bushido Blade I.

see anything recent from capcom (excluding CvS series)

You took the words out of my mouth. Street Fighter 3: Third Strike has some of the easiest combos and supers I've ever seen in a fighting game. Almost all of them are QCF, QCF, P or K.

I'd recommend Matrimelee to answer your earlier question. That game is so crazy that it's truly fun on multiple levels. I also dig the outrageous backgrounds, music, story, and funny cast of characters.

For easy Combos with mildly simple play.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves
Street Fighter III: Third Strike (Or dual impact, whatever you can find)

Slightly harder play
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Real Bout Fatal Fury (1, 2, Special)
King Of Fighters (Any)

Impossible/Dial-a-combo/Isn't this system broken?
Mortal Kombat
(Inu Yasha?)
Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition (To an extent. Mostly it's just My PSX controller.)

Crushing your own testacles with a meat cleaver is also a very simple game, and probably even more fun than legend of success joe :D!

The only fighting game I respect as a REAL skillful fighter was and still is Bushido Blade, that platform has yet to be replicated and/or improved upon.

Dude, if you wanna churn out some uber-combos without knowing jack shit about fighting game mechanics, just pick up a copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the DC. It's actually a pretty nice game if not for all the incredibly easy supers - but if you're a fighting nub it's total bliss. You can pull off some sick shit just by pressing two buttons simultaneously.
