Okay, I've got an AES system I'm interested in selling. Not quite sure how much I want for it, so I'm taking offers. As for what you'll get...
Included:
- A used, boxless Neo Geo AES. I believe it's an American model, but I'm not positive about that. My Japanese copy of Fatal Fury 2 seems to play in English on it...
- Fatal Fury 2 (Japanese version). Comes with a little pink sheet, as well as a manual in a baggie. The game is in pretty good condition, with no major flaws.
- Cables. Comes with a Genesis power unit that works fine, you just cannot touch it while playing or the power flickers. These aren't hard to find online, or depending on where you live, locally. I've just never gotten around to replacing it. Also, has an audio and video cable... More on that below.
- Controller. A newer (I believe) model joystick, with red buttons. Smaller than an original pad, hence my belief that it is more recently manufactured. Controller is in fairly good condition as well, although there is obviously no box or manual that accompanies it.
As for the condition of the actual sytem:
The audio and video cable is soldered to the board itself. I don't know if this could be fixed or not, and if so, I don't know how easy that would be. We made this modification as an immediate fix to the problem of a missing video cable. Also, as said cable comes through a hole drilled slightly above the ports on the rear of the system, it could very possibly just be snipped off and ignored, and a legitimate A/V cable put in the correct port. Because I have no actual cable to test this with, though, I'm not sure. Whether you keep it or not, though, picture and sound quality are both satisfactory. In addition, there is a pin missing on the second controller port (which is discolored, for some bizarre reason, but functions just the same). I have tested my joystick in that port, and everything seems to work fine save for the 'up' function of the stick itself. Since I only have one controller anyway, this has never been a major inconvenience for me but it could easily prove to be one for someone else who was going to play with other people. I have created another topic about replacing the missing 'up' pin, and got some useful responses. From what I read, I don't think it would be difficult or expensive to repair it. If you are curious, here it is: http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=82723.
Functionality aside, the console is cosmetically acceptable. There are some scratches, of course, as well as a few more relatively insignificant blemishes that in no way prohibit gameplay.
I have no pictures at the moment because I don't have a readily available digital camera, however, I should be able to upload some either later this evening or tomorrow. Shipping will be determined when the system is sold, and like I said, I'm not completely sure how much I'm looking for here. Please, feel free to post or PM me with any questions or offers you may have.
By the way, I'm pretty new here and have therefore never dealt with anyone on these forums before... If it helps any at all, you can check out my feedback on eBay under the name sgrimes3. Thanks a lot for looking! Also, my e-mail address is treno_kaeru@hotmail.com.
