I bought a MV-1F to stick in my aging SF2 cab, and only 3 of the buttons are working.

what am I doing wrong?

You're fucking up a perfectly good SF2 cab is what you're doing. :annoyed:

Honestly, I don't know, but I would love to have a six button cab for CPS stuff.

It doesn't work because the MVS is not wired like Street Fighter 2... You need to connect the button you want to be D to pin 25 of the JAMMA harness. Check www.hardmvs.com for more info and manuals.

I can't afford another cab atm so I have to make do with the sf2 for now. trust me, I would rather have dedicated mvs and cps cabs, but that can't happen right now.

Amano: I can't seem to find the instrustions to do this on hard mvs (checked there before posting this actually).

Maybe there's not a step-by-step on how to do that, but if you know how do cabs and arcade boards work, it contains more than enough info to do it. Check the pin-out in the manual scans.

As I said you just need to connect the button you want to use as D to pin 25 (and the second player one to the same corresponding pin in the solder side) of the JAMMA harness, next ot the other 3 pins for regular buttons. Wire one of the cables from the button there, and the other cable that comes from the button to any ground spot in the cab.

take the wire that is coming from the D button, that is not going to GROUND and solder it to pin 25 on your harness...

then do the same for player 2, but to the one below #25...

if infact this is your problem.

SF games use 3 buttons from the jamma harness and a kick harness for the other three...

if this is indeed what is going on... then they should fix the problem.....

If your SF cab is original, Please don't Drill a 4th button, it would break my heart.

But It would be cool to wire it like this:

ACB
BDA

yes, it's original, and no there will not be any drilling going on. nice idea for the button configuration.

or you could use the other 2 buttons as "multi buttons" like a and b together or something...

there is a step by step guide, i made it but no one ever fucking remembers my hard work!!

meh ill be ok.

projects

i would also, in your position, remove the cpo (if possible) and drill the hole for the time being untill you get another cab. its just not the same when theyre not in a row (if its on your list, and you know it is:smirk: )

also, if you cant do this, i would suggest a layout like this:

BCD
Axx

thats how i use my dc arcade stick anyway:emb:

how would you hook 2 buttons together?

FOr instance:

A-C-(A+B)
B-D-(D+A)

When you press the regular A button, the b button will ground out also.....
